Inspired by their years in Japan and California and their Scandinavian heritage, we updated this 1938 home with a earthy palette and clean lines. Rift-cut white oak cabinetry, white quartz counters and a soft green tile backsplash are balanced with details that reference the home's history. Classic light fixtures soften the modern elements. We created a new arched opening to the living room and removed the trim around other doorways to enlarge them and mimic original arched openings. Removing an entry closet and breakfast nook opened up the overall footprint and allowed for a functional work zone that includes great counter space on either side of the range, when they had none before.

CL Studio reimagines a classic Craftsman ranch home in Albany, CA. ✨ The kitchen was transformed with a seamless blend of timeless design and modern function. Key features include a handmade tile backsplash, custom white oak cabinetry, and a re-laid open floor plan ideal for hosting. Thoughtful details like an easily accessible appliance garage keep the space functional and refined. An enlarged French door to the back patio floods the kitchen with natural light and creates effortless indoor-outdoor living.

Light oak shaker cabinetry pairs seamlessly with a soft blue quartzite island, creating a balanced palette that feels fresh yet timeless. Brass hardware, a farmhouse sink, and oversized pendant lights add refined character without overpowering the space. A custom range hood and full-height ceramic tile backsplash provide subtle texture and visual interest, while panel-ready appliances and smart storage solutions keep the look streamlined. The spacious island offers ample prep space and casual seating, making it both functional and welcoming for everyday life. From the light porcelain tile flooring to the gold-toned fixtures and tailored detailing, every element works in harmony to create a bright, inviting kitchen that celebrates craftsmanship and modern living.

The kitchen required inventive strategies. Knowing that new cabinets were not part of the budget and new appliances were a must, we resurfaced the cabinets in glossy gray, added contrasting hardware, and installed cabinet lighting. A new lush black slate floor and handmade Moroccan tile back splash add contrast. Inspiration for a scandinavian dark wood floor and brown floor eat-in kitchen remodel in Dallas with light wood cabinets, white backsplash, an island, black countertops, flat-panel cabinets and paneled appliances

Rift-sawn white oak cabinetry was carried all the way to the 10-foot ceilings, maximizing storage while adding natural texture. A large island anchors the kitchen, while small appliances are tucked neatly behind pocket doors in a concealed appliance garage. Paneled refrigeration and dishwashing units maintain an uninterrupted flow of material, making the space appear larger, and Taj Mahal quartzite countertops extend seamlessly up the wall as a backsplash. A subtle shadow line detail on the island countertop adds modern refinement.
