I chose to work with Andrée for a second time to update my 1920’s Sauble Beach cottage. Andree completely understood my goal for the cottage and when she presented her ideas I knew I had made the right choice in working with her. We had the good fortune to hire Andrée of Moico Inc. for our recent kitchen, laundry room and front foyer renovation project. From start to finish, from the planning, purchasing materials, working with the contractors and trades people, Andrée’s expert advice, organization, and key insights made this reno a great success. She is a pleasure to work with; personable, caring, available, communicative, professional and knows her business. Being my first big reno, I really needed some hand-holding in the beginning and appreciated her knowledge of working with Ikea cabinets and designing the placement and functionality that was an improvement from my old layout. Between Andrée’s ingenuity and design MacGyverisms and the contractor’s skill, my Ikea cabinets looks custom-built. It was a tight fit in our downtown Victorian home with some tricky space limitations in the kitchen and 2nd floor laundry room. She saved us hassle and money with great advice as to what would and wouldn’t work and better choices in every aspect of this reno. Her insights on appliances, apron front sinks, faucets, etc. were extremely helpful as we worked together to acquire all the pieces. Her Rolodex (look it up kids) of excellent suppliers for specialty hardware ( I chose some beauties for the “jewelry" of my kitchen cabinets and drawers), tiles for backsplash and floors, stone slabs for the countertops, and lighting fixtures was a much appreciated feature of her design services. Having her accompany me on all of these shopping trips was invaluable. Her contacts and team are A+; the contractors she provided were excellent, highly-skilled and a pleasure to have working in our home for the duration of the reno. The length of her relationship and rapport with them made me feel very comfortable. Andrée allocated the budget, kept all the expenses recorded, had all the supplier paperwork organized and kept me, the contractors and suppliers organized throughout. She presented me with the binder and at the end of the project. My kitchen is now, too beautiful to cook in!! The laundry room is sleek, gorgeous and moody grey, which I love and the front foyer is fresh and inviting. I would highly recommend Andrée’s design services. She made what was a big project into manageable sections and processes and I would definitely use the services of Moico Inc. again.

When it came to the job itself, she has a great crew - highly skilled and a pleasure to work with - and Andree handled all practical matters, so I had next to nothing to do except watch it all come together. Not having worked with a designer before I was a bit nervous. Working with Andree was a delightful experience. She was very upfront about budget and what her costs would be. She made suggestions but never pushed her ideas on you. If you liked something but she did not think it would work, she would tell you. Once the project started she assumed the role of general contractor, being there every day to check on the work being done. The workers were fantastic. They knew what they were doing and cleaned up at the end of each day. We love the result!

We re-hied Andree to re-purpose an unneeded basement kitchen and very outdated bathroom. She redesigned the kitchen into a laundry room and created a modern design for the bathroom. She was professional, courteous and very responsive to all of our enquiries. Her contractors are also very good and dependable. She provided us with a variety of materials to choose from and the materials were all high quality. She kept our project on track, was on site regularly and ensured it was finished within a reasonable time frame. She recognized our design preferences early in the project and gave us wonderful suggestions and samples from which to choose backsplash, tile, paint, countertops, etc. Andree also thought "outside of the box". We wanted an office area for a workspace around the kitchen, but when we started the construction process, she suggested we combine this awkward area into something more functional. She flipped the idea and suggested storage combined with a built-in office area. This not only provided a working area, but a multi-purpose pantry and storage space as well.
