CDP (Creative Design Professionals) Architecture, LLC, founded in 2007, is a full-service architecture firm located in Nashville, TN. Our mission is Designing Joy! We believe that our purpose is to spread more Joy into the world through the power of good design. The design process begins with being a good listener and having the ability to understand and discern the essence of the problem at hand. It is only through deep understanding that a meaningful design solution can be created. Our goal is for every client to experience joy through each stage of the design process in addition to the joy they will experience everyday as they live, work and/or play in the spaces we create. About the Architect... After graduating from the University of Kentucky in 1994, Chad Polk, AIA moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue his professional architectural career. While working for three of the leading design firms in Nashville over the course of 13 years, Chad had the opportunity to work on several notable civic projects, churches, and commercial projects. With the experience gained under the leadership of the previous firms’ principals, all of whom were AIA Fellows, Chad decided to start his own firm, CDP Architecture, LLC in the Summer of 2007. Since then the firm has been engaged in a wide variety of project types with an emphasis on client-centered service and developing creatively designed projects that meet budgets yet exceed expectations. Chad currently serves as President of AIA Tennessee (American Institute of Architects State Chapter) and is a former 3D Perspective Drawing instructor at O'More College of Design. If there's ever a question that arises, they're available and able to answer it promptly and concisely. Great work from an experienced team. Our 1950's ranch home in Forest Hills, Nashville has been "reborn" into a beautiful modern home with walk ways, interior renovation and addition of a dream screen back porch. Chad worked with contractor, Charisse Claiborne, providing design drawings that were easy to follow even for me. Chad takes a very relaxed approach to his clients which made it easy to navigate the process.

In 2008, we hired Chad to design our lakehouse in Winchester, TN. The process of designing and building a second home 90 miles from our main residence was challenging but fun. We came to Chad with a few ideas and he took them and ran with it! His ideas were creative and significant. For instance, he suggested we splay the house to increase and improve our lake view. Chad was already familiar with the area, the homeowners association regulations and review board which helped in the designing and approval stages. Chad's 3D CAD drawings were extremely valuable in envisioning different spaces and elevations. Chad was easy to work with, creative, thoughtful, understanding and patient - all necessary qualities for first time builders. Most recently, Chad designed the renovation for our home we have lived in for 16 years. As one can imagine, we had specific things we wanted to change and fix as well as improvements to make. He listened to our thoughts, likes, dislikes, ideas, needs, etc. and again, came up with a plan that exceeded our expectations. Our renovation involved every room in our home as well as our backyard patio and back door entrance. The total project took about 15 months and required our family to move out for 9 months. Our family is so pleased with the renovation! It is fabulous! Our only regret - not doing it sooner!

We had a great experience working with Chad and Brantley on our home addition. We live in a Historic neighborhood, so there were extra challenges and restrictions, but they were able to design exactly what we wanted within the Historic requirements. We met with them multiple times throughout the process and they always listened to us, but also provided their expertise and guidance as we made different decisions. During construction, Chad and his team were frequently at the house to check on things and thankfully they caught some framing errors while they could still be fixed. Now that our addition is complete, we realize how important CDP's design decisions and guidance were. We would absolutely recommend them.

I hired CDP Architecture to design and draw plans for an addition and whole house remodel of an older home. Chad worked with me and my contractor to design plans that could be built within budget and would significantly enhance the property value upon sale in a few years. The home was in an area of the city that required all plans to be approved by the historic zoning commission, which Chad also handled as part of the process. I had a great experience working with CDP Architecture.
