reBuild Workshop

After we bought our first home in Brooklyn, working with reBuild was the best decision we made. Through every step of our major renovation in our 100+ year old landmarked co-op, Themis and his team inspired trust and confidence. Every subcontractor they brought on board was reliable and did excellent work. reBuild's contractor, Jimmy and his team, were exceptional, producing beautiful custom results and working consistently with the utmost care. Themis is the consummate professional: always prompt, courteous, honest, and incredibly knowledgeable. The happiness we feel living in our home is in no small part thanks to Themis, Jimmy and the entire reBuild team.

I worked with reBuild Workshop on our home renovation in Brooklyn. I found Themis, Nathan and the rest of their team easy and enjoyable to work with throughout the course of the project. Professional, flexible, open-minded, and efficient are all things that come to mind when I think of their work style. They were sufficiently supportive and capable of accomplishing the sustainability and energy efficiency goals I had set out to prioritize with the project. As a designer, they were also happy to include me throughout the design process and incorporate my input into the process each step of the way. Further, working with a firm that both designs and builds streamlined the process and streamlined communication. I would definitely recommend reBuild to anyone interested in doing a townhouse renovation like ours.

It's easy to give ReBuild five stars because their work speaks for itself, it's high quality with a thoughtful and innovative design, but working with a design-build team is so much more than just the result. We were just getting ready to submit our plans to renovate our coop unit when the pandemic erupted. ReBuild was in touch with us throughout the whole process, quickly switching to virtual meetings that allowed our work to continue. Even with Covid delays that were beyond ReBuild's control and due to new protocols, we continued to make the most of our time and meetings, pushing ahead and making future decisions so that when the work could start, it would go more quickly and not be held up. This all ended up paying off and more. Themis and his team work extremely hard and care deeply about the end result and their customer's happiness (not just completing a project). They offer creative ideas and solutions, but are not afraid to explore your own ideas or concerns. We were very happy to have them push us outside of our comfort zone on many design decisions, but we never felt uncomfortable saying no to an idea. They are always a text, call or email away and great supporters of local businesses and tradesmen. We have truly enjoyed getting to know Themis and the ReBuild team personally as well as many of the people they worked with throughout this process.

I recently retained reBUILD Workshop for a gut renovation of my new apartment. The entire project (from design to completion) started in September 2019 and was just completed after about three months. Remarkably, It was completed within our budget expectations! The project was led by Themis - who is a phenomenal architect. In particular, he (a) proactively thought about every aspect of the design, (b) had a consistent vision for the space and (c) carefully supervised execution of the project at a highly detailed fashion. I will absolutely hire reBuild again for future projects and have already recommended them to friends and colleagues in NYC.

reBuild designed and executed the plans for the renovation of our 1500 sq ft apartment on Riverside Drive. Renovations included redoing two and 1/2 bathrooms, upgrading elements in the kitchen and project management. He sourced and handled ordering appliances and materials which resulted in keeping costs down. Themis is easy to work with, responsive and fast.

I have worked with Themis and reBuild Workshop on a large renovation of my brownstone. ReBuild listened to my concerns and dreams and worked with me to create a beautiful functional home. They will be my “go to” for any projects in the future. I know that if I need them they will always be there.

We hired Themis and his team to renovate our townhouse and are very satisfied with the completed work. All members of the team are very professional, trustworthy and competent. Themis is very responsive and knowledgeable with all stages of the renovation process. He was able to navigate through the landmark process with ease and we always felt confident and comfortable. It was a pleasure hiring Themis's firm to renovate our non-landmarked 16' wide brownstone - including blowing out the rear wall of the kitchen, adding a window to a bathroom, a new deck, and gut renovation of the top floor moving a bathroom and raising ceilings. He is punctual, pragmatic, creative, resourceful, quick to respond to emails, and has a spooky ability to get workmen to show up. Despite a minor hassle getting the permits (some unforeseen requirement with the AC unit on the roof which Themis's people worked around by installing it diagonally!) our renovation still finished basically on time and on budget. He loves to get things done, communicates clearly through words and sketches, and will cheerfully scramble up on a ladder to demonstrate how to do something, like some kind of nimble Greek mountain goat. We are so lucky to have found him and we love our beautiful and airy new house.

We had rebuild workshop design/build our kitchen and had an extremely positive experience. Themis, the owner of rebuild is super knowledgeable, always easy to reach, has great ideas, good taste, patient, and an all around nice person to work with. His team / builders did very precise and clean work. Furthermore they were efficient and really stuck to their schedule and budget. I HIGHLY recommend them! Our kitchen turned out great and is our favorite room in our apt.

The reBuild team did a great job for the renovation of my landmark townhouse in Prospect Lefferts. Hired them from the beginning of the project, they assisted enormously in setting up the expectations, exploring alternate solutions and studying their impact both on space functionality and the overall budget. Themis and his team successfully managed to lead the construction and move the project ahead without surprises, and at the end – most importantly- completed it on the agreed limited budget, and on schedule. By the way, their kitchen cabinet maker was phenomenal. I highly recommend them.

Themis and ReBuild were fantastic to work with. We heard so many horror stories about projects that ended up double the timeline and double the price; Themis, Peter and their team kept those nightmares from being our reality. Thanks to their careful management, we ended up finishing the project right on budget and nearly on time - seemingly unheard of in New York City renovations. Even more vital, Themis was as concerned as we were about the small details along the way, and as a result, we ended up with high-quality construction. We couldn't have been more pleased with our experience and final product!
