I worked with Shelley Sass for design in my whole home remodel. She was ESSENTIAL working side by side with my residential designer and then contractor. Given that this was a whole home remodel, she had input in everything from floor plan, cabinet lay out, tile & stone and then final details like flooring, lighting and paint. She has an exacting eye in creating a functional and beautiful space, and I have no regrets with all the decisions I made based on her input. My contractor also commented she was a pleasure to work with. I will use Shelley again with any future projects!

Garage conversion into finished room

Their team completed the garage conversion project within the projected timeline. We were very happy with the quality of the finished room and would be happy to work with them again.

I found Shelley here on Houzz & she was even better than her reviews. She helped remodel a San Diego condo that was in rough shape & sold within a week of listing for huge profits. Staying within a budget, she was able to advise on economical improvements while still making a major difference enabling the property to match the comps in the area. Highly recommend & would definitely use her again.

I used Shelley and Steven (Sensitive Information Hidden) on the remodel of my condo in Serra Mesa and I couldn't be happier with the results. Shelley did the Interior Design and Steven led the construction team. Their service was phenomenal. I would highly recommend them and their team. They are really wonderful to work with. Shelley and Stephen Sass of Shelley Sass Designs and Sass Construction and Design recently completed a remodel project of our primary bathroom, guest bathroom, powder bathroom, and laundry room. Shelley and Stephen worked hard to keep to our requested timeline, were extremely punctual and responsive, and took care of our home as though it were their own. Shelley has a very tasteful design aesthetic and it was easy to collaborate to determine exactly what we wanted and needed. She gently guided us along the way, with excellent, thoughtful, and thorough design advice. Her attention to detail (even the smallest!), enthusiasm for all aspects of the design/construction process, and energy in keeping everyone focused and on task was a marvel. Not one day was wasted due to misaligned schedules - everything hummed along brilliantly. We added a number of extra projects to the overall scope - and somehow and miraculously, they kept to the original timeline. Their fantastic sub-contractors ALWAYS arrived on time and I was definitely comfortable with them in my home (even when we were often out of town). Thanks to Shelley and Stephen and their outstanding team, we are absolutely thrilled with the results. HIGHLY recommend!

Following thorough research, I decided to hire Shelley Sass of Shelley Sass Designs to renovate the kitchen and bar area in our recently acquired home. I cannot speak highly enough of her. Not only is she an absolute pleasure to work with but she is such a talented interior designer and home renovation expert! Shelley is a consummate professional who goes above and beyond to ensure the job is completed to perfection. She manages every step of the project and is communicative, punctual and very hands on. She not only excelled in her work but also demonstrated exceptional professionalism by surpassing our expectations to ensure flawless completion of the project. Shelley is the best! We just used her for the third time. She is slowly but surely transforming our entire house into a space I am delighted to come home to every day.
Some of the qualities that set Shelley apart is her speedy response time when ever I have a question. She makes the creative process of home design fun and collaborative. We cannot recommend Shelley Sass Designs highly enough. Shelley helped us remodel our house prior to moving, including helping us throughout the entire remodeling and design process and managing and coordinating every step and every vendor. She helped us with everything including picking appliances, designing the kitchen and selecting cabinets and stone, replacing the flooring, electrical and plumbing work, designing and installation of closets and garage storage, and selecting paint colors and all new furniture. Literally, we cannot imagine going through this process without Shelley’s support and guidance. We continue to go to her for advice, and look forward to working with her again on bathroom and office redesigns. She has a meticulous eye to detail, and spoke up to help us get all the details right. She always had our best interests in mind.

Shelley is an absolute pleasure to work with. She listens to what you want and works with you until you find the perfect products. The best part of working with Shelley is her personal touch. She worked with my families needs and supervised all projects with extreme care. Her timeliness is amazing. I've never worked with anyone as prompt and on-the-ball as Shelley. You tell her what you want and it will be done right away. I could not believe how fast she could transform a room! If, however, you need time to think about a project, she gives you space. She has a good eye for what will look good and work well in a room. I highly recommend Shelley for any house project you wish to take on. She is my go-to-decorator for any advice or service when it comes to our house!

Shelley helped us with an almost total renovation of our home - new bathrooms, new flooring, new lighting, painting the inside of the whole house and also some new furniture.
From start to finish she was available to manage the project and each and all the trades she recommended were professional and friendly and they all did a great job. The project was completed in really good time with no delays at all.
Shelley is very warm and knowledgeable, always hearing what your needs and wants are and offering constructive, affordable and useful suggestions. We would not hesitate to recommend her for any building or remodel projects.

It is hard to believe it was less than 2 months ago we had an unexpected flood in our master bath. It was just before christmas, in the middle of COVID and the last thing we wanted to do was a remodel. Our relator had recommended Shelly so I sent her an SOS text asking to speak with her to bid on the job. Within minutes, on the weekend, we were doing a face time walk through of the space. By the end of the week we had met in person, signed a contact and gone shopping for tile and plumbing fixtures. Throughout the entire process Shelley was communicative, responsive, and a pleasure to work with. She hired the most wonderful contractor who I adore (and who ever says that about a contractor?) She helped us design and implement a stunning master bath while keeping us on time and in budget. Her taste is impeccable. My only problem is now I want to her to help me update and restyle the rest of the house. Thank you, Shelley. We 100% could not have done the work so beautifully and so fast with out you.

I had a very long list of items to tackle in my house and Shelley attended to every single one! It turned out to be the perfect REFRESH and Shelley made it very easy. She was just as attentive with the small projects as with the big ones. We selected some various furniture pieces for my downstairs (beautiful!), helped me select a paint color for the interior, and supervised two bathroom remodels. The bathrooms turned out fabulous. I will definitely call Shelley again.

After another designer on my whole-home remodel quit on short notice Shelley rescued me and quickly got my project back on track. She has helped me find and express my style, leaving me with a beautiful home that truly feels like my own personal retreat. We went through a wide array of rooms and design decisions: paint, flooring, window treatments, furniture, counters, cabinets, exterior colors, and more. Shelley confidently handled all of the facets of my design, exceeding my expectations in every area.
I was also very impressed with her resourcefulness. There were several times when I fell in love with a piece of furniture outside of my price range, and Shelley was able to find me an alternative that was at least as good or better while staying within my budget. She knew exactly where I should splurge and in what areas I could save money without impacting the design. We finished comfortably under my budget.
Shelley turned a stressful project into an enjoyable experience. She was always on time, quick to respond, and committed to my project. I leaned on her organizational skills to keep my huge project manageable. I plan on working with Shelley again in the future, and I would enthusiastically recommend her services.

Shelley is a great person to know and an amazing designer! Shelley was with us at the beginning of the purchase of our new home. It was Shelley's designing ability, her foresight to see beyond what the home initially looked like when we bought it, to what it could look like with the right touches, that created the perfect style for us with warmth and comfort that we enjoy now. Our old fashioned master bathroom was in need of serious help. Shelley Sass was recommended to me by a neighbour and from our very first meeting I knew our project was in great hands. Shelley is a great communicator, creative and works extremely hard. Shelley listened carefully to our ideas and needs, really helping us to define and execute our vision for the bathroom. From choosing tiles to faucets Shelley saved us so much time (and money) by narrowing down the choices for us. Shelley is very proactive and ordered all of our bathroom items before the builders even started, so there were none of the usual delays or problems with deliveries. Shelley’s contractor is professional, hardworking with impeccable attention to detail. We were given a detailed project plan and Shelley was fantastic at overseeing the project for us. Our bathroom is a dream come true, the perfect addition to our house. Our next project for Shelley is a new home office. We can't wait to get started !

I hired Shelley Sass Designs to help me with multiple small tasks around my home. These included a new sofa, new hardware in the guest powder room, painting the powder room, new light fixtures, new fabrics for throw pillows, dining room chair pads and a window seat pad and overall rearrangement of my artwork. I found Shelley to be totally professional, efficient and outstanding at her job. She quickly assessed my own personal style and worked with me to create the atmosphere that I wanted. She was an absolute delight to work with and I look forward to my next project with her and to a long term relationship. I would recommend her to ny friends and family without any reservations!

Shelley was a pleasure to work with, and I would highly recommend anyone looking for an interior designer. She has an impeccable eye, and yet is also super practical and budget conscious. Shelley will listen to your ideas about color palette, furniture, overall look, etc. She really listens and addresses each of your thoughts. She’s patient and explains everything and provides additional information when necessary – she is very good about providing monthly detailed accounts and invoices of how she spent her time. The hours allocated to each task were completely in line with my expectations and her fees are very fair. In addition, she provided great recommendations for other service professionals. Shelley has a great sense of style and was very detailed oriented including accessories and art work. My home looks beautiful and stylish and is also very comfortable. I would work with Shelley again and highly recommend her.

I was extremely happy with my experience with Shelley Sass Designs! She is very professional as well as very personable. I moved into a new home and was starting over with almost every room in the house in terms of furniture, lighting and decor. We met several occasions to discuss my style, budget and everything I hoped to accomplish. Shelley was always available to bounce ideas around and provided very honest feedback on items I had found. She can work with any style home and can help you update and complete the look you are trying to achieve, all within, or even under budget! Shelley has helped my wife & me with several projects over the last 4 months which included designs for reupholstering most of our furniture, arranging for the reupholstering, assisting the remodel of 2 rooms, and placing photographs and pictures throughout the house. She has been thorough, easy to work with and has kept us well informed.

We recently moved to LA and were struggling with decorating our new apartment. We contacted Shelley and she sorted us out! She helped us determine what color scheme to use in our living room and what rug, sofa, and chairs we should buy. We were on a budget but she showed us great websites to look at that we weren't finding on Google ourselves. We saved a lot of money based on her recommendations. We also had a bunch of things that we brought from our old place that didn't really fit in with the new look we wanted. Shelley helped us decide what to keep and how to arrange things the right way.
Even though she was in San Diego (and we were in LA), she was able to help us so much. We used her E-Styling service, so we were on Facetime and emailing about the project. She is really responsive and understood what we wanted (even though we sometimes didn't know how to express it!). She is really nice and has great taste. I would definitely recommend her for your next project.

Shelley was an immense help to me in renovating my condo. She respected my views and never forced anything on me. But due to the fact that her taste is impeccable, I found her suggestions to be marvelous. Whenever I was unsure, but decided to take a chance on something, it worked out perfectly She is the total professional. She checked on the progress of the work weekly. She was always available to deal with any issue that came up. This was like having a dear friend helping me with this project. I give her my highest recommendation.

Shelley is a pleasure to work with. She is creative with ideas and colors, always on time, and carefully listens to what you want to accomplish. She is a great communicator; always returns phone calls, emails, and even texts very promptly. Shelley helped us choose a new wood floor and new carpet for our house during our "re-freshing" as well as paint color palette for different rooms. She worked with her contractor to remodel the master bathroom and helped us choose tiles, counter tops and fixtures. We love our new bathroom! Shelley is also helping us with furniture, window treatments, and other decor for the kitchen, living room, and family room. While I know Shelly is fantastic at creating rooms from start to finish on her own, we wanted someone who would work with us to help improve on our ideas and Shelly has been wonderful in guiding us in the right direction with her great suggestions, excellent resources, and wonderful design talents. We absolutely loved working with Shelley! She helped us re-work a rustic beach look into a more contemporary mid-century style. Shelley has extreme patience, talent and style along with a happy and bubbly personality! You cannot ask for more. She listens to your needs and budget and stays within the range. I hired Shelley to coordinate the remodel and construction of my entire new home, including bathrooms and kitchen, carpet and paint. I had seen many samples which I loved but needed someone to marry colours, tones and texture together so that the elements complimented each other. We went to various tiling, carpeting bathroom/kitchen and stone suppliers and she was beyond amazing. She gave me the idea to collect samples so that we knew what colours/textures we were talking about. She saw shades within the grey tones we were looking at that I had not seen, making it easier to match things up. She was open to my opinions and offered suggestions and great ways to complimented the look I was trying to achieve. She has boundless energy, enthusiasm and ideas. She is up to date on the latest trends in the world and has many ideas on her Facebook,newsletters and Pinterest boards which we could draw on. She is calm, focussed and wonderful. I thoroughly recommend Shelley sass designs for any small or large project you may be thinking about. I loved working with her.

Shelley Sass did a fabulous job. Our house was sold in less than 24 hours after being listed for sale...and it sold above our asking price! We believe this success story was due, in large part, to Shelley's artistic and staging design ideas. I am a real estate broker in Rancho Santa Fe, California. Shelley visited me at one of my open houses and we discussed how important staging would be for a successful marketing campaign. I have a $2M listing in Del Mar, with ocean view which is beautiful & highly upgraded- but had been decorated in very dark colors, with heavy, dark draperies- not at all what buyers are looking for today. She provided a proposal to us with additional suggestions of painting the main rooms in a lighter color. Her bid was very reasonable ( I have had stagers bid other projects ) it included her time in choosing all the furniture, her own accessories & purchasing any additional items required, choosing live plants for the house, the first month's furniture rental/move-in/move-out- and of course, her talent in 'putting it all together,' for $6750. After the first month, furniture rental is $1000/month. We painted the main rooms and that was @ $3000. All told, the house was transformed for about $10,000. It made a huge difference ! I have had two open house events since the project has been completed and the house has received rave reviews from agents and neighbors. It will certainly achieve a faster sale for a higher price. Shelley communicated with me throughout the process, asked for my input on choosing pieces and creating the 'look' I wanted- she listened to me. I highly recommend her services. Shelley was an absolute professional the entire duration of the project.
She was organized/able to meet deadlines and had great ideas that would work within my budget. Shelley helped me finnish off my lounge area and tv room. I was in need of coffee tables for both areas and accessories. She was very professional and very helpful. I enjoyed my time I spent with her and the tables we eventually found are beyond perfect. She is very reasonable with her rated and very generous with her time and effort. she went way out of her way to please me and I have already started planning to redo my Master bedroom with her. I highly recommend Shelley, she will really help you and will probably;y become a good friend in the process!

I hired Shelley to assist in the planning and design of my bathroom remodels. She is easy to work worth,knowledgable and very creative. She helped take my ideas and put together a plan from basic tile to finishing touches of beautiful lighting. She takes time to explore options and presents them to you being aware of budget as well as being respectful of your choices. I would highly recommend her. I have one more bathroom to redo and will have Shelly work with me when I am ready.
