Mary Anne is a terrific designer who is talented, professional, reliable, friendly, patient and energetic. Our house was 25+ years old with dated design and deteriorating conditions. My husband and I decided to renovate the entire three levels home. We had to find a designer who could fulfil a big dream of mine and my husband's to completely redesign our home. We were lucky and glad to have Mary Anne as our project designer. When we first met Mary Anne, she spent a couple of hours to walk through the house with us, took pictures and listened patiently to what we needed. From that first walk, she already came up with some ideas that impressed us. After seeing her renderings of our house, we were amazed and fell in love instantly with our 'new home'. Mary Anne was able to interpret our vision and create a cohesive overall designed contemporary custom home that was very functional and beautiful. The process of our whole house renovations has been very challenging from start to finish. Mary Anne worked with us through the entire project, seeing us through an unfortunate faulty start with a terrible contractor to a better contractor for us. She helped us endlessly and patiently with sourcing, measuring, selecting, overseeing, confirming and also helped us handle the stress we had due to the extended period of renovation. It is hard to image our project without her help. We truly thank her from the bottom of our heart. We are now thoroughly enjoying our new space. I envisioned the admiring glances of guests seeing our new open staircase and upgraded renovations when stepping into our house. I am excited of using my dream kitchen and are happy with the increased storage space and functionality . All the new bathrooms have their own character. Our teenagers are thrilled with the transformation of the basement from a storage place to an entertaining room. They can't wait to invite friends to come and enjoy a day with movies, games, popcorns and laughter. Our master bedroom and ensuite is a blast ! We love the coffered ceilings and the marble stone walls and also other amenities throughout the house. I forgot to mention that Mary Anne also changed the exterior look of our house which we received a lot of compliments from the people passing by. Mary Anne had transformed our house into an elegant and contemporary 'new home' for our family to enjoy for decades in the neighbourhood that we loved for so many years. Thank you very much! We worked on a renovation project with Mary-Anne recently and had a fantastic experience. She was very organized in her process from beginning to end of the project and was always available when any questions arose. I particularly liked to collaborative atmosphere she created when it came to potential changes during the project with the ultimate goal of providing the best finished product for the client. I would highly recommend her as an interior designer.

Mary Anne is not only a delight to work with but the end product is beautiful and functional. She was just what we needed for the partial renos of our new-to-us townhome. Her renderings can be followed to a T by homeowner and contractor. Our 80s-style guest bathroom is now modern, spa-like and a wonderful space for guests. On a large empty wall going from dining room to family room, Mary Anne designed an original bar that wows visitors (and us!). The upstairs storage room with wire shelves was an area where one would keep the door closed. With Mary Anne’s transformation, it is now an attractive, functional office space with lots of storage in a beautiful cabinet and a wide barn door that is kept open. To our amazement, with just minor alterations to the powder room, one’s eye is now drawn outward giving the appearance of a much wider space. We also wanted (re)decorating for our new home and a fresh look as some of our possessions were 40 years old. For items that we couldn’t part with, Mary Anne creatively incorporated them, giving them new life. It was fun shopping together for furnishings, lighting, rugs, etc.! Mary Anne is a very creative and energetic person who works with the client to make the home suit that unique family. Thanks, Mary Anne, for making our home truly ours and such a joy to be in!

The exceptional service we received from designer Mary Anne Spears was amazing. She certainly was a pleasure and joy to work with. Making our renovation enjoyable and exciting. Mary Anne is full of knowledge, creativity and talent. She turned our powder room and on suite into two stunning rooms. Starting off with renderings which were outstanding. Giving us two designs to choose from and covering all our needs. Looking after contractors, trades people, booking appointments making sure everyone was on time. Being able to trust her decisions and knowing our renovation was in excellent hands. We were still able to go away for a month on holidays while renovations were completed. During completion she kept us well informed of progress. Mary Anne treated our renovation like it was her home. On completion she stepped in and completed deficiencies herself. We feel blessed to have found Mary Anne as our designer. She is one of the best with incredible talent. We are looking forward to using her expertise for our next renovation. I was invited to partially renovate the house and to replace aluminum soffit for cedar one. Thanks to Mary Anne's support and high professionalism the project was successfully completed. Mary Anne again helped us with 2 projects recently - both unexpected and potentially stressful! My first impulse was to call Mary Anne for help and it was the right decision! The first was the need to replace our kitchen counter-top after discovering that the old dishwasher was put in before the floor so removal would require either cutting away part of the floor (and replacing it, of course) or replacing the counter-top, as it would lift and break during the dishwasher removal. After consulting with Mary Anne, we choose to change the counter-top as it had been put in poorly by the previous owners anyway. Mary Anne not only understood our budget restrictions but also our likes and what would work best in our older house. She made some great additional suggestions we would not have thought of (rounded edges, slightly wider counter on the "island") and chose a great builder/installer company that did a fantastic job! As I use my kitchen EVERYDAY it has been a delight to work on this new counter-top! The second project we did not anticipate having to do this year was the renovation of our ensuite bathroom due to a leaking shower (into the TV room below!). Mary Anne was FANTASTIC! She helped us understand the cost and what would be involved right from the start, but also "stayed with us" through the whole process! She even searched for a new contractor whom she could be certain would care enough about this project that he would do the best job possible - and she found him!! They worked together and with us continuously to give us so much more than we could have thought! They both went way above and beyond in keeping the house clean for the weeks it took for all the trades to come and go, in keeping us in the loop, in improving on design, in finishing every detail and fixing everything! I know that Mary Anne put in way more hours than she was paid for and that she just really, really cares about her work and about giving the client even more than they hoped for. I HIGHLY recommend Mary Anne for even just a consultation to anyone who needs work done. She is honest, hard-working and does not give up until the project is better than you hoped!

It was my good luck to have contracted with Mary Anne Spears of Home Design when I decided to make a complete renovation of my entire home. After our first consultation where she took pictures and measurements and came back with her thoughts on what should be done and could be done, she was available most everyday of the renovations and was able to point out minor changes that would enhance what she had already planned.
