Kitchen Design

The client had a very small kitchen with limited storage and as many kitchens from "yesterday" was also very secluded from everyone else.
By removing the wall between the kitchen and dining room, it created a more open concept, which in turn added another dynamic to entertaining. The peninsula created additional storage and preparation area and a secondary eating area.

Before
This wall separated the kitchen from the dining room. It also prevented the ability to function in what was a very small kitchen with no storage.

By removing the wall, it provided the space to add a peninsula that was designed with a live edge wood top. This gave character to the kitchen added cabinets under the top and additional seating not available before. The ceiling in the dining room and living room were also vaulted to make the space...

A camera placed on the vault provided this look to see how much space was actually gained by removing the wall. The entire space was now increased to better function, mobility and socializing.

This was the portion of the wall inside the kitchen separating the dining room before removal. This is where the peninsula was to be placed. The window was removed and placed into the dining room wall in front of the table.

The fireplace was a beautiful feature that needed to be seen as such in the living room. It was kept in place but re clad and made more distinguishable as a feature wall.

By placing lighting , some shelves to go with the rustic was refined new space, it gave the family room a whole new feeling.

This area in the kitchen needed to be better organized. Removing unnecessary bulkhead allowed for more storage and the feeling that the kitchen is also larger.

Keeping this wall and building cabinetry to the ceiling allowed for more storage and a better functioning kitchen. New appliances and a wall of backslash with a pot filler gave the stove wall the feature it needed.
