Working with Dan, and his team, to design our dream home was a great experience. Dan had the ability to take our ideas (sometimes very different between husband and wife) and create exactly what we were looking for. He truly cared about how our home was designed, his vision was as creative as it was functional and he was completely invested in our project from start to finish. We are enjoying our new home and look forward to many more enjoyable years.

Dan Contelmo sold himself without opening his mouth. His work spoke for itself. We developed a great working relationship over several years while developing and planning a major renovation. His process helped me shape and reshape my original ideas as he pulled them all together into a realizable project goal. His plans were meticulous. He influenced me with his signature style but never bullied me out of my variations. He helped profile builders and connected me with HomeEnrichment, the perfect builder for my project. He was prompt and available. The project stayed close to budget. Overall, he exceeded my expectations. He was great.

I have had the pleasure of working on multiple projects with Dan and he is a master at his craft. From concept to completion his professionalism, design knowledge and quality are remarkable.

When I purchased my Victorian which was built in 1900 the identity of the house had been lost over the decades of different ownership and multiple haphazard renovations. When I invited Dan to help plan my renovation he was able to bring out the original character of the house while also incorporating a modern floor plan. Dan and I discussed what I was looking to gain as well as salvage and there wasn't a second of hesitation on what was possible. I felt very comfortable sharing my thoughts and what I was looking to remove and add to the existing structure. I even had used cabinets from another home for the kitchen and master bath that he reconfigured to work in the new space. Whenever a question arose there was always a very clear explanation which always left me feeling very confident in the end result. Not only is Dan open minded but also has a creative, forward thinking outlook on design. It was a pleasure working with him and I would recommend him to anyone.

Dan designed our outdoor cabana. The cabana looks as though it has always been part of the house. He understood what we were looking for and made it happen. We now use our outdoor cabana as an extension of the inside. With the new addition we are able to spend much more time outdoors enjoying the outside while feeling as though we are still in the comfort of our home. I loved Dan's attention to detail and I would definitely use him again.

Dan designed our forever home and worked with us and our builder throughout the entire building process as well. The time and dedication that Dan and his team put into making everything the best if could be for our needs is evident in the finished product. Our new home is perfect for us in every way. I hired Daniel Contelmo Architects shortly after purchasing my 2 bedroom, one-story home in 2012 to produce as-is drawings. Most recently I hired Daniel Contelmo Architects in 2015/2016 to produce construction plans to replace my entire roof which involved the addition of a second level. This home is my first and I was not familiar at all with the renovation process. Dan and his staff would provide professional guidance throughout this process; above and beyond guidance on topics ranging from contractors to zoning codes to stocking a small pond with koi fish! Dan delivers an exceptional customer experience. Dan would come to my house for planning meeting, spend time sketching out ideas until we were satisfied with a rough layout. From there Dan and his staff would share drafts of their designs for comment until the finish product was ready. The quality of Dan's work is second to none. The quality of Dan's work is well know by professionals in the Poughkeepsie area. Whenever I would apply for building permits or discuss my project with potential contractors, mentioning that I am working with Daniel Contelmo Architects brought instant validation to my project. It has been wonderful to work with Dan over the last year. We both are amazed how our ideas and wants were transcribed to paper with such detail. Dan and his team went above and beyond our expectations! We can not wait to start our build in the spring of 2016 and see our dream house comes to life.

We are so pleased to be working with Dan Contelmo and his staff, that I thought I would write a partial review before our project is even complete. Dan is extremely professional and continually has the ability to exceed our expectations. He listens and than translates exactly what you have in mind with those extra details that you could never have thought of. He is creative, readily available, and willing to follow through on ideas that we may have with his professional touch. This has been such a fun project! We have lived in our home for almost 40 years and throughout the years we have done numerous projects and additions to grow with our family and/or to update and change with the times. With each new project we would call a contractor, tell him what we wanted and the project was done. There was never a wow factor or a creative process. When we were planning on moving, several friends suggested we call Dan Contelmo before we made a decision whether to buy a house or build a house. They not only spoke highly of Dan's work, but spoke about what a pleasure it was to work with him. We had never worked with an architect before so we did not know exactly what to expect but after meeting with Dan, the decision was easy. We decided to build! We were planning on building our house in Nashville, Tennessee and was hoping that would not be an issue. Luckily for us, it was not and as a matter of fact, Dan already had clients in Tennessee. Going into the project we had a few ideas but not an overall picture of exactly what the house would look like and feel like. Our meetings with Dan were relaxing, creative and invigorating. Dan would ask us the perfect questions so not only he, but my husband and I, could get a really clear picture of what was important and essential to us so we could create the perfect home. As we were talking, Dan was creating a home that was truly sensational. His attention to detail and amazing sense of style was breathtaking. It was if he not only heard our words but was also reading our minds and was designing something that we could never have put into words! Working with Dan was amazing from beginning to end.

Dan helped us redesign our entire house, 5700 square feet, new bathrooms, new kitchen, fireplaces, and millwork. We love his eye for design. Dan worked with our taste and preferences to help us realize our vision. He communicates well and he always follows through.
