Check out allposters.com as well. They have thousands of items so you should be able to find a vintage poster you could have framed there. Be sure and upgrade the paper. I've ordered several prints from them that I've framed, and they've all been very nice.

i have an advice, just come out from my head, Why do you block the window with the sofa?
How about move the sofa against the wall, then get 2 wall sconces and wall art to fill the wall ? in this way, you will have the space beside the window, which will allow you to enjoy the view through that large window

Thanks Abbyjean. I thought of that too, and have been looking for one. Concern is the wall is big and a landscape would be a better option, and the framed ones I have seen are small and portrait.. But I'll keep looking!

I love the idea of moving the bench to that wall so I can look out the window.. I tried it and here is the result.. I am concerned that the room looks unbalanced now, and with the door to the outside, I am not able to put anything on the other side to balance it.

I don't think you did block the window. Either way, both options look good - I think if you're going to go for the second picture, you need a rug to pull it all together. I still prefer the first way you had it because the direction of the table NOW makes the room look longer than wider. (That's just my personal view, pictures can be misleading)

I do have an idea that I saw of art that I think would fit your place - it's bold, exciting and hard to find. I will keep looking and post when I find it. I know you said you like something vintage,but would you go for something abstract? Bold colours? Daring?

Looks much better! Change the window valance out to side panels to frame window. Put large art next to door for balance . It may never be totally balanced but you've got that lovely view so it's a worthwhile compromise in my opinion.

FOUND IT - yes, I rock. This is literally what I thought of when I saw your place - you have these luscious, dark and moody walls and the juxtaposition of the dark and sultry against the vivacious and youthful artwork adds a new dimension and life to your place. I do think I can get it to work either way depending on which way I go. For balance and functionality, I like the bench under the windows (heat runs are on the other wall and outlet). I think I need to get my art work first to determine which way to go. I saw this barn wood wall piece in a shop, and it looked great. It gave me that vintage fix I was looking for, but the piece wasn't for sale. I am currently working with a man to create a barn wood wall piece. Here's an example of what I'm hoping for..

I love that you moved the bench.....no way to know for sure and if you are like me, you would always be wondering about it. Now you know what it looks and feels like. Cannot believe how perfectly it FITS there, but when I look at the one pic you shared, it just made that counter wall seem awfully long, with no stopping point. I think my favorite place is back under the window. But fun to have options, huh?

Mmm abbey Jean makes a good point about bench bring a continuation of cabinets so if you want to keep bench there, I'd paint it.

If moving bench to other wall, see large chalkboard idea to go overhead, which I think would be different. I would add a sisal rug, lots more pillows on bench and a more interesting centrepiece. I found this piece nearby, bought it for $20, and picked up a few boards.. Thinking that this may do the trick. Power washed all and they look pretty good.

SCORE! Cannot believe how perfect that is....and that price, too!
