Replacing Old Aluminum Porch Cover

We recently purchased our 1940s minimal traditional home and love sitting out on our front porch. The aluminum cover looks dated and we are looking for ideas to boost the curb appeal. We enjoy having shade on the patio. We're having a difficult time visualizing something updated that would go with the gabling on the house. Thanks!
