I like them both, you could use the subway as your main tile & create a "picture frame" detail under the hood with the herringbone tile. You will need pencil liner bars (or a similar item) to do so.

Love the newer herringbone detail...but does this tile have grout? Always wonder if lots of little tiles with grout over the stove will be a nightmare to keep clean?always love sparkly glass tiles in these situations to contrast with the sort of duller stone look..even stainless steel penny tiles...

You should go with the brick pattern throughout, but use the herringbone in a rectangular form under the range hood. Utilizing the best of both worlds... Herringbone on a large scale might be to much! ; )

Love the herringbone - very classic!

Hi---both are nice---but for your kitchen I would choose the brick pattern. Why? Because your island is different than the perimeter cabs and the brick pattern adds more depth. I like this one too for you. Hope this is helpful. Keep us posted and Good Luck!

I'm leaning towards the herringbone because I really like how different it is! But i've also been thinking about doing the brick pattern with a herringbone accent above the stovetop!
