Take out all the grass next to the house on the door side & make one large English garden. Remove the hedge and put up an wrought iron fence similar to your back fence. Not sure which door is for guests. If it is the one farthest from the garage put an arbor in place of the hedge and a sidewalk directly to the door.

please take away some of the black asphalt! and add some flowers :) also need to think about drawing the eye to the door. what about a pergola.

Quaint house and great ideas people! Any way of repeating the three window pane design to replace the tiny window (to the right of the front door)? The hedge stops rather abruptly short of the driveway. It would be more inviting if you had a gate or gateway / arch and pathway leading up to the front door. As much garden and foliage, English country garden style would certainly enhance the curb appeal. If you cannot do anything about the little window you may consider a fountain, arbor, shrubs, tall flowers etc. to embellish that space and cover the drainpipe.

The little windows are quirky but add to the old historic feel of your home. Don't change them unless you want to.

Paint the front door, open a pathway to it through the hedge, add window boxes. Then plan a major redo of the asphalt and garden.

Hanging garden trellises look great hung in front of bare walls.
