I was thinking that too. I'm leaning towards Southern Ledgerstone, in Fog, halfway up the front with 4" Silver Ash or Sterling Grey for the siding. Then Charcoal Grey for the Double 7" Straight Edge Rough-Split Shakes. I just don't know if that will have the striking look I want. All of that would be set off with white edge trim/soffit. Thoughts?

I understand you are asking about paint, but I'm going to comment on the house itself.

That is a rather unattractive front elevation. It's all garage, a busy overdone roof, and no house. This looks more like a side elevation.

Is the front door set on an angle?

As to colors. Take your cues from the stone.

Here is the original house that we modified to our needs. Our house sits on a corner lot and the angled front door faces into the entrance to the subdivision, while the house is square to the road in front of it.

I'm with ppf on the house. With gray siding you are limited to gray cedar shake which I've never cared for. The picture below it about the best I think. I gave some other options. The blue with dark brown cedar shake or even a cream. White with whatever color cedar shake you like.

I would go black roof and grey siding or bricks

Can you show the stacked stone? You will want to coordinate the colors with that.

My very first thought was this is a side elevation for a house on a corner lot with the garage entering from the side street.

I encourage you to reconsider the plan. Turn the current side into the front if possible and face the garages to the side.

Also, rethink the angled door. An inside corner is not the best place for a door.

Consider square columns which better fit the style of the house.

The house as is needs mass on the right side to help balance the largeness of the garage and roof. I bet the large center gable is attic space and could be done away with

Is that reds and mauve in the stone or is that a bad reflection?

The basement is poured, so this plan is the house that's being built. The 2d drawing doesn't show the depth well.

As for the stone, there are reds, mauve, and even green in it, along with Greys

I'd move away from that unless that is your taste. To me that is outdated to the 90's. I'd stay classic with browns or all grays.

I guess I have to disagree with changing the roofline. The high roof over the house takes the emphasis off the garage. If you could also lower the peak of the garage roofs it would be ok but not as drawn.

Since you are already building and it would be too expensive to change the design I wont comment on how you want your home, however, I will encourage you to switch away from vinyl siding, That was what we put on my home along with brick, it was awful, where the sun hit the house the most the vinyl faded and began to dry out and got a crumbly look, on the north side of the house it would mold and have to power washed yearly or it looked terrible. After 5 years we took it off and went to the Hardeboard siding. Love it, you paint it once with the proper paint and rinse it off with a hose if needed from splash up when it rains. Does not mold and does not get dried out and crumble. Its a cement product and costs are about equal to the vinyl. S that is what I am putting on my new house and expect it to last about 40 years and it will be here long after I am gone.

PS: Forgot to say I am painting mine a very light blue grey color and using stone skirting around the bottom. It is really very beautiful and rich looking. I also have a red metal roof, but I live in the country and it is appropriate for my area.

What kind of siding and how long ago? UV protection has gotten a lot better recently.
