My front portico is 7 ft wide by 4 ft deep. I was told 10 inch columns would be too big, so I went with 8" columns. I think they look too small. The portico is not yet completed. The contractor still needs to add the half columns on the sides of the front door, finish the arch in the roof, and paint everything white. I'm not sure whether to wait to see how everything will look when completed or change it now. If I switch the columns in front to 10", I have to keep the ones on the sides of the door 8" because of the siding. What should I do?? Your help is appreciated!!
