Priming required for textured drywall before painting?

The drywall installers are going to install the drywall, tape, mud, prime and texture (light orange peel) the walls new walls in my basement.

Do I need to add another coat of primer before I paint? Or is the coat of primer + the texture enough to allow me to go straight to painting?

It's normally texture then prime.

Any painting over mud without primer, will take the texture off or ruin the look at best. It will suck up the paint and change the color. Definitely prime before painting. Good luck! :)

They have special primers for the first coat over mud.

the primer before the texture is only intended for texture purposes it's for texture to go on evenly you need another coat of primer then paint
