BM Gray Mist,your room is so big it needs a good grey tone

But that fireplace is going to the ceiling...I have whitewashed pine boards on the ceiling now....I think that would be too much grey?

This is the wall at the opposite end...my kitchen is around the corner on the right.

How about reclaimed wood on that opposite wall

Pick out a color from the the white washed pine such as a mushroom taupe color. Don't go too light on the walls and don't paint the trim bright white. Instead paint all the trim either the same color as the walls or one shade lighter in a satin finish. Consider weathered gray hardwood floors to compliment the fireplace stone.

As you can see, a color like this will change in different light. Make sure you test it at different times of the day…or just go for it (you may not like it one minute but will the next).

My floors look like reclaimed wood...there is some brown some grey and an off white...ugh the painters are here today priming and I am so stressed out...it is such a huge area I need to go with and solid color and not something trendy. I don't want a huge grey room....my door is exactly like the one in the photo above...my trim is cloud white the same as my kitchen cupboards and my island is black. I have a huge 100 year old barn beam going across my kitchen and another one to support the upstairs sitting area....so no one likes the Bennington gray by Benjamin moore? it looked really good with my floor sample and my large couch sample????? friggggg|!

i love the reclaimed wood idea on the opposite wall but i think i am just going to put large pieces on there and use them as large shelves.

Actually, I did look up your color on houzz and yes, I did like it. It is a contrast to the other colors in the room. :)

Yes I saw those...it looked really good with my floor and piece of fabric from my living room set....I just cannot go grey with that huge grey fireplace...I need something to cozy it down a bit....I find grey walls to be so cold looking...I'm not one to follow trends and grey is a bit over done these days in my opinion....

Benjamin Moore Grant Beige HC-83 will work great with your fireplace and keeps your space " light" and " warm". Your home is beautiful.

The grant beige is on the same color chart as the Bennington gray...I just came from the paint store and I have decided to go with Bennington Gray...I hope I am not disappointed and Thank You...I will post a pic when it is finished....long old process...so many decisions to make but i am proud that i designed this house and made the majority of my decisions on my own :)

Love that color! Have you thought of trim color, white looks very crisp and clean and also looks sharp next to this color selection. Good luck.

I'm doing cloud white for my trim as I didn't want it to clash with my cabinets if there were too many shades of white in one large area.

Yes I did go with the original color I picked ...I am pretty happy with how it all came together.
