That sounds good as long as you don;t have many plants to start, or if you do, then you have alot of room. I think most start under some sort of artificial light, and space is definitely at a premium there.

But yes it does have problems as Dave already outlined and it also assumes you don't want any of the plant benefits derived from transplanting. ;)

I start all my tomatoes seeds in one pot. I'm talking each variety in one pot. After the first true leaves appear, I prick out the healthiest plants and transfer to 6 packs of pro mix, planting up to the cotyledons. This is how nurserymen do it. I may have 30 plants, however I will only keep what I need. Maybe 12 plants I don't try to save every plant. This is when I give them Root Boost and place them under the grow lights and in a cooler area and then outside when the weather permits.
