I've been looking on the web and still haven't found them. In case I need to clarify, they were dry bean "seeds".
In size and shape, they looked like scarlet runner bean seeds but were black and white in color. They were speckled/mottled.
I came across a photo of Christmas Limas that looked black and white on my monitor but the color descriptions say they're burgundy and white.

I noticed this evening that Gardenweb has a Beans and Peas forum so I will try posting there.
