I have a brick house with a composition roof shingle and have found the easiest way to find the perfect trim color: I bring a brick or two and a piece of the shingle with me to the paint store. Those are the two elements (together with the white siding) you are hoping to complement. On the basis of what you've shown above I'd have to choose the bottom color but with a darker hue of that color for the trim.

I am going to try a white trim tonight. Thanks for the idea. it was on my original list but got left behind. I will post another poll tomorrow with the new colors and choices. this site has been great! :)

this is the exact color combo that we plan on doing our home in WI with. We have admired it on many homes near our lake property and can't wait to transform our home here soon!

I like the grey- not the grey on the door- that's too light.

I would paint the house in a creamy light yellow. But, also,,,I would move the tree more to the front of the yard. Landscape needs to me redone.. And something easy, buy more of the blue flowers and add them to the landscaping. Anyway, I like also the blue-gray color for the house's body.

Hi, I really like the muddy grey at the bottom, it looks good with the green trim and the red brick and shows a better contrast with the pristine white wall.

I prefer the top color with a darker grey trim. It will enhance the existing brick without competing. These colors also complement the roof tones.

although the bottom color is my fav, i think its too dark to contrast with the brick...and the middle is way to blue toned....so i think the top color is best...it will give a natural stone color that works great with the brick but not compete with the brick. Also....the white trim is way too stark of a choice...go with an off white or a creamy light color....but stay cleat of yellow or pink undertones.

neither those colors blend and make the house look dull you need something to contrast with the singles not mimic them if i was you i would get more samples , but the grey would look good on the garage doors between the brick to match the roof but none of those colors are right for the house

oh...and cut down that huge tree...it is overpowering the curb appeal. replace it with a decorative weeping tree.

it looks like you might have a concrete porch? well in that case would go with the top lighter grey and keep the porch posts and such white. it also looks like your gutters are a hunter green? id change those to white also and agreed the tree needs to go. you could do a red door and accent with red handing flowers around the porch and ad red flowers in the garden after cleaning up some of the greenery. the hydrianga bush needs cuts back an tamed, also take the bush in front out and maybe put a decrotive weeping tree there.

Looks like you might have a little black in the brick...that's the color I'd go with, but then my front door is black and I love it...good luck!

Now that I came to this page, I can see what your house looks like and am glad I voted for the top color. Right now you have a light color contrasting the brick and and it compliments the house well, so going with the lighter gray will definitely contrast a little, but not as much as it does now. The dark gray (the 3rd choice) is nice and darker seems to be more in at the moment, however with the way your house looks the lighter gray will look great.

Definitely the darkest (bottom) of the three colors since you have so much red brick. And an even darker trim (rather than lighter) would be good too. Example:

Color is only one of the design tools that needs to be considered. PLACEMENT of color is more important. Garage doors now say Welcome to my Garage as the current color contrasts too much with the brick. I Recommend a darker color which makes these doors "recede" Focus on choosing an "advancing" or brighter color for the front door to make your home more welcoming. Curb appeal is all about advancing or receding colors , contrast of color and color placement. Color preference is personal. Wow, such a large amounts of votes! THANKS ALL. I ended up choosing the bottom green-grey color and picked up 2 more shades of trim. I think the contrast of a light colored trim will make everything "pop" I have been wanting to cut that ugly 5-6 trunked tree down for ever, perhaps I will fire up the chainsaw and have some fun when I get home from work.

I've never seen a house with black or almost black, trim that looked appealing to me. It just seems to draw your eye to that part of the house. Doesn't look homey to me at all. Reminds me of a business or institution. I prefer clean and classy. I do like some darker colors, but think they definitely need a lighter contrast color with them. Good luck with your project, I'm sure you will pick out the very best color combo for your home and it will look wonderful!
