I think you need more light here , this colour reminds me of Chinese Restaurants ; such colours absorb light .

I think it's a lovely color! I like the picture in the middle the best.

I like the Quoizol finish but if it doesn't please you, it would be pretty simple to dab some brown and bronze paint on it before you hang it. Just practice on cardboard first. Or ask a decorative artist to do it for you.

I love Deborah Butler's suggestion of the Hinkley light. I think it's a spot-on suggestion.

I also really like Deborah's suggestion. It is tradition with a twist. Foyers are great areas to add interesting lighting that can "stand alone".

Thank you for the suggestions! I agree we need more light now that we have a darker wall color.. hoping to eventually get a new door with some glass to help with that as well. I love that Hinkley Pandora light.. sounds strange, but it looks like something I would wear (like a bracelet..hehe).. But, I'm wondering if it's a bit too modern or sophisticated for my home. This is the light over my kitchen table, which is partially in view from the entry. Kind of a more rustic, tavern style in a brown finish. But, I would like to add some modern touches, and I also love a touch of chinoiserie. The starburst is fabulous, but is a little too wide..and I had a moravian star in the entry in my last home so I'm looking for a change.
