Need Serious Lavender Help

Last year int he spring I planted 5 small lavender plants. They did exceptionally well, they grew so big that I had to trim them back earlier this year. I planted them in the yard with a good mixture of sand in their soil.

However this last month has been horrible. It has been continously raining. I swear its rained every day for the last 10 days on and off.

nothing is drying out and the ground is like a wet sponge.

(this is not normal weather for us.)

Its killing my lavender. All the stems are turning brown and the leaves are too. they are jsut becoming a mushy muchy pile in the plant, and then the mushy leaves are starting to mold.

I know there is to much water, and the plant is not getting a chance to dry out but I cannot control the weather. What can I do to help my poor lavender??

I tried removing the mushy brown leaves but I don't know what else to do.

Is there a way I can get rid of the mold or dry out the soil?? Or anything??
