Moving from Issaquah - Will Share Plants for Garden Help

Hi,

I have been an active member of gardenweb for most of the time I've lived in WA- the past almost 8 years. My yard is full of plants, from both local and national gardenweb trades- as well as many I have grown from seed, bought from nurseries, etc.

This summer, I will be moving back east, and would like to find anyone interested in helping me in the garden in exchange for plants. I would like to give away some of the unique plants I have, in case the future owner isn't interested in gardening. I know from experience gardenweb members appreciate special plants.

So, this is just an early post to see if anyone here might be interested in helping me get my yard into shape in exchange for giving a good home to some of my plants. I also have lots of seed starting supplies and other gardening equipment/supplies to give away that I won't be moving.

Right now my yard is under snow, on a hillside in Issaquah, so this wouldn't be for probably a couple months. It doesn't necessarily need to be a specific day or event, just at the convenience of whoever is interested. I would also welcome anyone to bring plants with instant impact, like annuals, that I could put out to make the yard look especially attractive.

Thanks in advance, and I will miss the great group of gardening friends I have gotten to know here.

I will still be gardening, just not so much. Mainly I need to get my yard tidied up, and disperse plants to good homes.

Thanks for your offer to help. I now have 4 or 5 people who are interested in helping out. I could either arrange a day/weekend for everyone, or people can come when they want. I will be starting to work seriously next month, and then through until summmer, so any time that works for you would be great for me. Thanks again!

Would be interested in coming bye to look & help. Prime plant interests are plants useful in Japanese-style gardens, hardy low-maintenance plants, plants that have 3 or 4 season interest (I'm more interest in plant structure, foliage, tnan in flowers, blossoms).
Very flexible schedule. Would prefer to finish any transplanting I do by mid-April, since I like transplanting plants in dormance or while soil is wet.

Thanks for your offer of help. I will start working in the garden in earnest in March, so if you want to arrange to come then, to be sure to transplant by mid-April, let me know what works best for you.

I am bumping this up since I am now FINALLY ready to start gardening in earnest. We have had a really long, cold winter here, with snow on the ground on and off until last week- even a bit this week, though it melted within a day. So anyone who wants to help, please leave a message here, thanks!

Ruth -- I will be staying over in Factoria for almost 3 weeks starting the middle of next week -- May 7th. That puts me within reasonable distance of you, plus I won't be working in my own garden every day. I will be happy to come help in exchange for some plants. Can you post here some ideas about what people might be doing? If you have enough volunteers, perhaps we could organize tasks?

Yes, I still need help in the garden. I am starting to work in it, and have had some help from a friend. Any and all assistance is appreciated, and I have many plants and plant related items to give away.
