Hi Scarleta, Here is how my DH does this: two one-foot peices of black plastic pipe about 3 - 4 inches diameter. This is a type of drainage pipe and you can get it with a "trap" that is a screw-top lid in the middle, so you can put the bait in this. You put it where they like to run, along the side of the house, or outbuildings and we have one along the side of the compost as well. It is weighted down with big heavy rocks so other animals can't get to it or upset it. The black pipe should be availabe in a building supply store. You have to keep the bait topped up all the time. They eat it, but I have never seen a dead one anywhere. Good luck!

You should keep in mind that once you poison the rats that are there now, new ones will move in. As fast as you kill them, new ones move in.
