Out of necessity (ok, and foolishly!), I have planted a dwarf conifer from a pot (about 21/2 feet high and wide), a four foot oak leaf hydrangea and a corylopsis (both removed from one garden and placed in another). As you might imagine, they don't appear to be surviving in this heat despite two deep watering sessions daily. The conifer is rapidly turning brown at the tips. Would it help to remove it to a more shady location until fall, then plant it in the current location, or would that cause even more trauma? Are the other two plants likely to survive with some dying back? Would a trim help? Should I give up all hope?
