Either raise or lower the light in the living room. It blocks your great artwork.

Thank you Dar Eckert, I love these paintings. I completely agree with you the light fixture blocks the painings. I have a disagreement with the person who hung the paintings and the light. I say they need to be lowered but he insists that they are at the right height. Between you and me, I will lower the paintings to clear the light when he is not around. It's easier to move the painintgs than the light fixture.

Another suggestion would be to work off the artwork colors: blue. green, etc. in a glass pendant like this one.

Ok. Yes, add the pop of color since the kitchen is also neutral. I just picked one for the idea, but shop around since you may need two of them. So glad to help you out.

Thought about this some more and I think that maybe clear pendant will be a little boring, maybe something really "out there" (and FUN) would be better for over the island because the space is so minimalist...
