A sage green or mustard color would look nice in your kitchen. Both of these colors would go nicely with the wood trim also.

With that much wood you don't want colours to compete with each other. A cream colour say Ylang Ylang or Cable Knit both Benjamin Moore would look lovely.

I agree also with ymcs. A dark rich color would not do this space any justice. Take a look at Benjamin Moore 2144-40 Soft Fern. That color is calm enough, and yet there there will be body to the walls. :)

Why do you have to stay with one color? This area looks like it could be a nice area for color. A light neutral would blend right in with the cabinets. Your kitchen looks similar to mine. We used a olive green, but in hindsight I would have gone with same color, one shade lighter. The rest of the attached rooms are a creamy beige with white trim.

Fairviewbonnie is totally on point... Never Paint all of your rooms the same color. You need to feel like there is individuality for each room. Make sure you pick colors that are similar in shade but a different family of color. Check out the Historical Chart from Benjamin Moore you will be pleased with what you will find.

I don't necessarily need to stay with one color...haha my mind is just going in 1,000 different design directions it seems!! :)

It is completely understandable.. I'm a painting Contractor and when i redo something in my own house i sometimes go blank or go in a 1000 directions. lol

How about adding a tile backsplash? The first thing that catches my eye in your pictures are the plug outlets and the small patch of tile behind the stove. You also have two colors of wood, the lighter cabinets and then darker trim/flooring. I would add a backsplash that picked up on all the existing tones plus some neutrals and put this up to the bottom of the cabinets. Then you can pick any warm neutral color or for you main home color. The pic attached is an example but you could find many options that are less busy but still has the blend of colors. If you don't add a backsplash then a green/sage paint is a good option.

My cabinets are similar and my walls are sagey olivey green- not what I selected but what was here when I moved in. I haven't changed it but I don't like it. If I were you I would just do a warm soft beige if you are trying to stay neutral. I would stay away from yellows, oranges, and reds because they tend to make this color cabinet look really yellow. A backsplash would be a good way to incorporate color if thats what you want. I'd love to see you post a picture when you finish :)

I, like anitajoyce, was thinking sage green, but I see your countertops are a creamy beige color, and I took out all my paint samples I have and found in holding up the color sample to the image on my computer, Behr's Spicy Cayenne is a lovely way to make your cabinets and your countertops POP! (If you like color, that is!)

For me, lionscale, I would need some color in there to make your room pop, too! If your sage were a bit darker, or your cabinets a richer color, the sage would be great. (I find sage to be very calming and soothing; I really like it, but this kitchen needs a little something to spark my interest.) Just my opinion.

I think you have too much of the same color in the wood. Have you thought about painting the cabinets? I updated a similar kitchen with wood floors and cabinets in the same color. We painted the cabinets a creamy white, the walls a butter yellow, it totally changed the look of the room. I've attached a before and after for you to see.

I also suggest adding a backsplash. It looks like there is some sort of metallic tile behind the oven already? Why not stick with that theme, and add a shimmery metallic tile under all the cabinets? With a visually striking tile backsplash, you can paint the walls a neutral color and avoid having a kitchen that's too bland.
