It's finally done!

I can't believe it's finished... after thinking I needed a

new machine, and thinking I'd never complete it, it's done!

Thanks all!

Now, aren't you glad you stuck with it? There's nothing like knowing that you made a WHOLE quilt all by yourself!

    GREAT JOB!

I like your use of color--blues and greens on one side, and yellow, orange and red on the other. Did you plan this to be a cool vs. hot quilt? Winter/summer or night vs. day or water vs. fire? Perhaps I'm overthinking what's really just a lovely quilt?

I just love it. Love the cool/hot colors, and the back is perfect, just LOVE that fabric. Good job.

Wow. I never dreamed folks would have positive responses
with this quilt (I see mistakes!). Everyone else HERE
seems to have much more experience (and talent) than I do.
Yes, I have a confidence issue since I've not done this
before... This is quilt #3 - 1st two being TIED fence
rails... so this is my first quilted quilt... ;) And I
probably never would have attempted it if it weren't for
Annie. THANK YOU. Seems weird b/c I don't even know you -
    THANK YOU!

Ok, I wanted to play with colors b/c my first two quilts
    were these...

I also inherited a log cabin from my gr-gr-grandmother and
it's falling apart and may be some day I'll have the confidence to fix this (my alterior motive!)

I wanted to have one corner red, then go into oranges and
yellows in the middle and gradually go into the greens
blues and purples - but when I was putting it together,
    this seemed more cohesive (?)

This is a pic with almost the whole quilt (prior to
quilting it) so you can see the whole thing:

The colors were just fabrics I liked - and my kids (4 and 5
y.o.) had the opportunity to 'choose colors' too.

    My colors - cool/hot... I'm a sunrise person - the colors
of the sky and reflection on water (I live on a lake)
really makes me happy. I think that's why I'm attracted to
the colors. It wasn't on purpose being hot/cool... ;)

It is a gift to my sister. I don't think anyone else would
appreciate that much COLOR on their bed!!!

My camera is a cheap Kodak my mum bought 4 years ago. It
suits me fine - I do dabble in photography (for myself) so
I am familiar on how to get the most out of this camera.

Thanks so much for the vote of confidence.

I've already started cutting for quilt #4...

    Thanks again!

What a great log cabin. You did a wonderful job. I would be like your sister and liking all the colors. Your blue split rail looks like waves to me. I like all of them.

Your log cabin is really, really beautiful and congratulations on a great job. You are on a roll girl! Have fun, that's what quilting is all about.

WOW! This is inspiring! I just got my first good sewing machine for Christmas and have not sat before one in years. I want to start quilting and this is such fun to see peoples amazing creativity. Do you know how many hours you have in it. I am going to try to keep up with the hours I put into my first one. My husbands grandmother could look at any of her MANY quilts and tell you how many hours she had in it, I don't know why, I just found that fascinating! Keep up the beautiful work as you never know how it may move someone!

I gave it to her Saturday. She LOVED it. I'm so happy I did
it and gave it to her. She was thrilled and kept telling me
she wasn't worthy. :) Very sweet.
