Static Shock

The other day I'm walking around the corner and touched the corner of the wall and got a static shock. Nothing unusual about that. About 4' away, and above the point where I came into contact with the wall sits a smoke detector (battery operated). The detector went off for a couple of seconds after the shock.

Any idea what would cause that?

Electromagnetic interference. Is this one of the smokes that wirelessly links with another like detector by any chance?

Just an ordinary, stand alone, battery operated smoke detector. No interlink of any kind.

Interesting, is this an ionization detector (radioactive materials) or a photo-electric detector?

How long did it go off before it stopped?

First Alert SA300. It's an ionization type.

The alarm went off for about 2 seconds or 3 "beeps".
