Baking help needed

I am baking challenged with a poor memory! I need to make gougeres (cheese puffs) for a cocktail party on Friday. I thought I remembered the recipe said the dough could be made 3 days ahead of time and baked later. So I put the water, butter, salt, cayenne and nutmeg on the stove and started melting last night...then re-read the recipe. Dough can be made ONE day ahead. The butter was already melted, but had not boiled when I removed it from the heat. I put it all in the fridge to finish it tonight.

Since I had not added the flour, eggs, cheese and walnuts, do you think I can start with the previously melted butter mixture or do I need to scrap it and start over?

[Really, I.don't.bake.]
