Beach Ball Baby Quilt

I was bored with Big Red and just couldn't get interested in a small Christmas hanging that I have, so I decided to piece this 48" square quilt that I had purchased a jelly roll for last year. The fabric is Sphere Zen Chic by Moda, and the pattern was free on Moda's website. I was able to find enough of one of the grey prints for backing and binding at Fat Quarter Shop. It will give me some practice in FMQ, and I'll be ready for the next baby. It also gave me some practice in piecing hexagons before I start my OBW.

Love it...the colors, and the fabric design goes with the block design perfectly....need to add this to my never ending list!

It's wonderful. I agree, yet another for my ever growing list. Uh, there's a problem here. My stash is out of control and I don't have any of those wonderful fabrics :-)

Perfect for a baby or child's quilt. What is the pattern name? Of the precuts, I like jelly rolls the most, and always try to keep a few on hand. I find they are easy for traveling and there are so many patterns avail for quickish, mindless sewing. Nice job, as always.

What fabric are you using for your OBW? I've made a few Stack n Whacks (fun projects) and would like to make a OBW when I have some more time. OBW is a serious commitment in time and space.

Marsha, the pattern name is Beach Ball Baby Quilt, free on Moda's website. I'm using an Asian print for the OBW. In fact, it's the one I used for the largest blocks in the Asian Arcadia quilt that I posted a while back.
