You are planning on blocking the French doors with an entertainment unit? I wonder if it would look much better (and be easier on the eyes on a bright day to see the TV) to instead put the entertainment center on the large wall your sofa is against. Then you could "float" your seating 2 or 3 feet aeay from the French doors and stairway walls, creating a grouping.

This is a small area. Keep furniture minimal, a 2 seater with a comfy chair and a smaller tv unit. Definitely a light airy color maybe very pale teal which I see in your tiled floor or a nice off white for this space.

I wouldn't block the doors, but smaller pieces, loveseat and a chair or two would be good, with a nice rug to soften the space.

Don't put anything in front of doors, it just makes it look like the room is too small. A small scale sofa and 1 chair. TV console that is low and without any side units against the stair wall. Definitely a rug, without room dimensions I would say an 8 X 10. Don't go skimpy let it fill the room, that will make room feel larger. Get your RUG FIRST then choose paint and furniture colors. It often becomes difficult to find a rug when you already have painted and chosen furniture.
