I just decided to bite the bullet and buy the Elfa closet systems (container store) for my master closet, both boys' closets, and also a closet that I've taken doors off of and turning into a desk area.

My home is modern, with mostly white walls and rift cut white oak flooring.

I'm trying to decide what color the standards (the rails that hold up the closet systems) along with accessories (the mesh drawers/brackets/basically all metal components) should be. The shelves will all be Birch, which is a really nice complement to my floors.

All of the walls are white, so I was thinking white would just disappear in the background, but I wasn't sure if the white mesh baskets and brackets looked too much like regular old wire shelving. For some reason, the Platinum (metal color) seemed to look more substantial to me.

Any thoughts on this? I've attached some pics of white walls with Birch shelves and then the 2 different colors of standards/metal parts (white or Platinum). Note: These are not my designs, just examples to show the colors.
