One year after construction review....

11 years ago

Let's start with the tubs;

1 - Master bath is a 70" Jason with Microsilk pump and a Jacuzzi pump. No heater: no light.

My contractor and plumber had SUCH a hard time installing this and getting it to work. It caused SOOOO much trouble. First, Jason sent the wrong size tub. My contractor framed it in. I saw it and noticied it wasn't the 70" I paid for. Jason admitted their mistake. I personally think, they should have given my the 70" for the price of the 66" but whatever. They had to ship the old one back, get the new one in and reframe the bath. when they installed the tub, it wouldn't work. Finally, after MONTHS !!!, Jason got someone locally to figure it out. Lord, Lord - help you if it breaks. There are practically no one that knows this brand. The local guys had to talk to the factory guys on the phone only to determine the factory provided cable was defective. Jason sent out a new cable: again, I think they could have sent me the cable that turns the spa light on for my inconvenience but whatever. Nothing. Well....after much delays and heartaches, it works. And it works well. Love it. The microsilk pump I believe is more hype than reality. Love the jacuzzi jets. Don't miss having the heater. Do wish I had the lights. And I do wish I had the handles to get out - I didn't get them bc the way the tub had to go in, the handles would have been on the back wall. The contractor said he had to put it in that way bc of the pumps. Oh well. I will say, the Jason rep was very helpful both times.

2 - Kids bath. Just a regular deep tub. Right? Wrong! Bought a Hydro systems fiberglass tub. Soon after install, the fiberglass wall bubbled. BRAND NEW, NEVER USED with a big bubble. Hydro systems sent someone out to "repair" the bubble. well....I just had someone else do a second "repair" because the first "repair" looked HORRIBLE!!! Actually, the second "repair" is still drying. It was the reason why I decided to write this review. Hydrosystems has been easy to work with - but this is a BRAND NEW TUB - just replace it already! we'll see how the second "repair" goes.

3 - Delta faucets - no problems (except for the touch kitchen sink - see my appliance review). These are standard, gilded bronze fixtures. No problems.

4 - Koehler Cimmaron toilet with bidet seat. Good news - Have not had to use a plunger in a years time. I wanted the bidet seat with I love it!!!! Love the heated seat, etc. However, I have used a standard TOTO toilet with bidet seat and I would choose that over the Koehler if I had a chance to do it over. Just a better bidet seat. PPL say TOTO is so much more expensive but not their standard toilet. But If you are not doing the bidet seat, the CImmaron is a good flushing toilet. No issues. I have a regular Cimmaron toilet in the kids bath, again, have not had to use a plunger.

5 - Koehler Santa Rosa toilet. For small spaces. Have not had to use a plunger in a years time. Good flushing toilet.

6 - went with a brown marble in the master bath. Sealed it. No problems.

7- went with Kensho silestone quartz countertop. Matches brushed steel and white really well. No problems.

THats about it. Hope this helps.
