Dawn Kelly, hope your package arrives tomorrow. We had a brief taste of spring yesterday and now back to damp chilly gray days. Spring is a tease but so delightful when she chooses to show her face.
Not much blooming here now but the columbine are full of buds and the Hostas are showing their colors. Come on May, I'm waiting for you.

I just got back from a lovely weekend with my sister. We try to get together for a weekend around my birthday every year ... just her and I ... no other family or husbands. LOL

We went to Marshall, MI. Did a Ghost Ride, visited some local museums and went to the antique stores. Oh, yes and the restaurants and bars. LOL

Wonderful packages and beautiful flowers everyone.

Shirley, sorry to hear of your pain. Hoping the best for you.

    sharon

Susan, your flower pictures are beautiful!!! We're still weeks away from having that many pretty flowers bloom :(

Tammy - your package has been available for pickup since saturday morning. I am concerned about the small surprise I put in there. I hope it makes it.

Thank you Nikki for the wonderful box. We had storms go thru so our internet has been out, just got it back on this evening but it's still not working to good. I received a welcome sign, flower hanger, a cooking mitten, kitchen towel to match. A water bottle with a small plant inside- it is alive and well not sure what it is as I couldn't find a name for it??. Also, received a sweet belated birthday card with sunflower seeds and bean seeds. Thank you so much!! I am excited to see what my little plant turns out to be. Love all of it!! Thanks Nikki ( cinnie0)!

Sorry I couldn't get on earlier to let ya know I got it Monday morning.

    Have a beautiful day!

    Tammy

Oh that poor plant looks like its been through a rough trip. I wrote the name on the water bottle must of rubbed off during the trip. Its a datura noid with small white flowers. Glad you got it.

    Nice boxes still arriving.

Susan-Your flowers are beautiful. My tulips have all bloomed out and now my clematis, bearded irises and peonies are blooming. Oh how I love Spring.

Sharon glad to hear you and your Sister had a good week-end. My Sister and I used to be so close and now we have somehow drifted apart. I stay so busy with work and gardening and all I want to do is visit daylily farms, plant sales and nurseries. You sure have to have the same interests to do this together. All my Florida friends will be here next month and I have

most of the Spring and Summer planned for our plant trips together. They assure me they will

help with my wheel chair so we will see.

Tammy - glad you liked the box and your welcome for the id. Cant wait to get my box.

My tulips and daffodils didnt do well this year. I think our winter was too mild and we didnt get enough cold. Love the pics. My irises are doing well and my red hot poker finally has a poker. lol

Sigh, all of the beautiful flowers, my first year adding flowers and the garden is still basically green. Hopefully I planted in time for summer flowers. My pineapple sage is in bud.

Here are my everblooming mini roses and sweet violet. My yellow one smells like clove and wafts on a warm day.

My runner beans 2 year is the charm

My delicious kale grows the most beautiful butterflies. She just hatched today. I was going to get a picture of her cat and out she flew. Next year I must grow more kale.

Wild Hair, problems growing runner beans....what is your secret?

    Annie

I have the biggest garden blush right now.

The trick is to plant seed just before the last frost so they can grow deep roots before warm weather makes them grow foliage.

The second biggest thing is to grow plants that fight bad nematodes near everything. For me those are onion, pineapple, Marula and marigolds. Just read that white sesame seeds fight nematodes so i am going to stick that around my melon.

I mix 1/4 cup of either coffee grounds, tea leaves, orange peels or old milk In 5 gallon of water every week.

I give them a yogurt water bath every blue moon to get rid of extra pest. Lastly I throw my old peanut hulls, onion skin, banana, orange and mango peels out as a much.

Dawn the PO delivery conf # system said your package arrived at the PO yesterday. Hope you get it OK and all is well with you.

Wild hair, I'm growing runner beans for the first time this year. Thanks so much for the information. I have a few extra onions that didn't get planted in the garden .... they ended up in a pot, so now I will move then next to the runner beans.

    sharon

In the kitchen, a red onion and some yellow, were trying so hard to grow. I planted them out where I grow beans. Happy to hear it might help the beans. Mary E.

Nikki-Peonies left undisturbed can get huge. I really like the doubles and try to buy the ones that don't need staked. Gilbert H. Wild has some really good selections and great prices.

Wild Hair, great info on the runner beans. I have never heard of a YOGURT WATER BATH. Thanks so much!!

    Annie

Awesome box Tammy, Nikki have fun with that box.

I received my box from Mary E. (cottonwood) today. The box was packed full!

A cute little flash light, a clip on butterfly, homemade soap, a bag of caladiums, body balm, lip balm, massage candle, Milk Bath Soap, tiny pinecones, a small metal tin and a very cute card that I can reuse.

Such a wonderful box. Turns out I can't use the soaps, they turn my skin bright red, but my daughter loves them ... so if you don't mind Mary, I will be putting them in her bathroom so she can use them when she visits.

It was a lot of fun going through each and every gift! My gardens, sun and shade will be blooming with your gifts this year. :o)

Nikki, so glad you got your box and love it!! The hardy banana page was so you would know how to plant them. The ensete banana seeds you got is the seeds to go with the page. I just put them in a baggy to keep them from getting lost. Also, you should have gotten a big seed by itself and it is a sago palm tree seed. Just remove the outter shell before you plant him. It was my pleasure! I enjoyed my box too!

    Have a beautiful day!

Well I took pics of Amy's generous gifts but it won't upload. I'll figure it out. In the meantime, here is my LOOT!

"Peace" hanging sign, very nice dish towel, cutest little fox/raccoon pot stake, red gladiolas, Bamboo wind chime, Easter Chocolate Candy, xtra large ziplock seed baggies, rosemary and lemon sachet, white/red fragrant gladiolas, a bunch of assorted seeds, clip on note pad, little chicks décor (need to find a creative way to use these - they are so cute), "Relax" rock, and Plants! - mixed 4 o'clocks, bugleweed, hosta, canna, and orange crocosmia. And you wouldn't believe it she got this all in a regular size priority mail package. You need to give me packing lessons Amy. What a great box thanks so much!. My husband (with my direction) is going to try to get my late box out today I hope you enjoy what I send Amy. Thank you so much.

Mary E-Thanks for the info on Park Seed...great place here to let others know of good deals. Nice box you shared with Sharon.

Amy-Nice box sent to Sue, Crocosmia is one of our best sellers at Market.

Sue G-So good to see your post, how did your surgery go? Some days I get so frustrated I almost cry and then I just thank God because I know there are a lot of people out there who are much worse than I. There's no way you can do this by yourself. Eddie has to help me down steps and get in the shower and out of the shower. When there is no weight you can put on your foot at all it is very hard. They are going to take out my stitches and staples Tuesday. Good luck Dear Friend.

    Shirley

Sue G-I almost forgot to ask did you order a knee scooter? I ordered mine from ebay but I guess you got my e-mail.

Does anyone grow caladiums? I read online about de eyeing them. I sent 'Sweetheart' caladiums from Park, waited out overnight freezes.

With the spring tornado watches/warnings, I routinely keep LED flashlights handy. Lowe's has capsule shaped ones. Stick one in your jeans during storms, it doesn't cut into you.

    Mary E.

I just love the two adorable garden gnomes, the precious bunnies and the beautiful copper bird feeder. I am going to hang the beautiful picture of the garden window boxes in my home. You are so thoughtful and I thank you so much for everything!
