I've not tried it, but I would use "Goo-Gone" and let it set for a few minutes. The other thing I might try is WD-40. One or the other will usually work on most anything to get a label off.

You might try Acetone.

There is absolutely NO solvent that will work on the Brothers label. I've tried them all- Goo Gone, acetone, lacquer thinner, paint remover, etc. I've soaked them in it for days, to no avail.

Here are the only two ways I know of: the first is to simply heat the plant stake with a propane torch until the label slides off. Then you can remove the glue with acetone, lacquer thinner, etc. The second method to remove the label is with a wire wheel on a bench grinder (or with a sand blaster).

Maybe I should just order some new ones, or get some white P-Touch tape and label over these.

Why spend $$ when you can just boil them off for free? There's no sticky residue left over; it's like you have a new plate again.

the plastic is impervious ... remove it.. then use the goo be gone for the sticky stuff ...

either use a heat gun ... and then tweezers to peel back the plastic ... beware.. it will be hot ...

or lay them on the blacktop ... next to the hosta.. lol .. until the glue softens ... repeat as above .... gotta be a hot day though ...

Peel them off, then try WD-40 on the adhesive. It works well on bumper stickers you want to remove when your candidate loses.

you cant peel them off without the heat ... and you cant get goo under the plastic

i often wondered if a hairdryer would get them warm enough ...

also ... i used tweezers and needle-nose pliers ...

the pliers to hold the warm tag ... the tweezers to grab the plastic part of the label ...

I recently used PAM cooking spray to remove prescription bottle labels and it worked well and you know how hard those are to remove! Spray with Pam and let sit overnight.

To remove prescription bottle labels, and other gooey labels, I've always used cigarette lighter fluid (Naptha) with great success. Right on the plastic bottle it says "Excellent for removing: Labels, Grease, Tar, Oil Stains"

I have used a hair blower to remove bumper stickers from my car and it works well. Sometimes you need another air of hands.

They don't boil off. You pull it out and peel it off. Thus, no pot full of glue. It just softens it and when you pull the label off, the glue goes w/ the label rather than staying on the metal.

I did have a handful that still had some residue. They were the p-touch bulletproof labels that I put on in the spring that sat in cooking sun all summer. I think they were the most cemented. I just used 70% alcohol to swipe away what was left. Easy.
