Great room and I love the suggestion of the floor lamp! Your console is lovely on its own and does not need a thing on it. I would blear everything off of it to focus simple on the console.

I am thinking of putting a chrome nautical tripod spot light in that corner. What do you think?

A floor lamp is fine but is that an end table I see? Why not add a really fun table lamp there. There are many that will work with your style. Pretty room :-)

I really love that lamp but I'm not sure the shape is the best for that space. It may be a little too wide at the bottom. I think something with more fullness at the top could work better. I'd also love to see a little more contrasting color in the room. It's a beautiful room and I love the puppy!

You don't have a lot of lighting in the room. A floor lamp would be nice, but consider a table with lamp instead. That would give more access to putting down drinks or snacks.

Love the table lamps shown by Susan2494 - something like that would carry the color around the room as they are art on their own! Less is best when it comes to the TV area and wall mount idea is very good.

Perhaps a pillow like one of these to add to sofa to calm the turquoise and add add'l color

I love this room! it has a nice beach vibe to it..I think you need some accent colors to make this room pop. For the TV console, you could keep some nice lighting on ecch side.. Here is a room similar to yours...

You could change the beige rug for something more colourful and use muted colour cushions on the sofa that cooridinate

The addition of another colour will add interest to yr space.

How does this height of table and lamplook? These lamps are from my bedroom but I am playing with height. I am going to get different lamps and side tables.

It would be better if you had a table that wasn't just like the TV console and something with more presence. You might add acrylic end tables and a larger lamp.

Height of the lamp you're playing with is nice but the shade diameter is too small.

Perhaps the Petite Paro Floor Lamp from Ylighting. The classic turned cast metal base will reflect/ contrast the Asian inspired
grill pattern on the media console. As far as the TV, what you need is to reflect the dark aspect of the piece in the room. The simplest and least obtrusive way is to have a dark band around the rug, to frame the rug. No amount of adornment will hide the TV and everything you have is very cohesive and i wouldn't add anything to unbalance

2 of these might work on the right of your sofa facing the dog :>) This blue might fit with the pillow and lamp you liked.

Your room looks rather beachy, light and airy, I think those tables are too industrial looking. IMO :>)

Two of these might fit well for seating. Not too large in scale but large enough to be comfortable. The multicolor fabric fits well with your current color scheme.

Melinda, I think that side table is all wrong for the space. Your room looks more glam than beachy to me. I'd go with something with a bit of bling.

I kind of like the 1st chair grover posted, I guess the coral in pictures led me to think of the ocean. You have a lot of white in the room, the aqua walls are begging for some contrasting color. I would love to see the green and white striped chairs in the room with a aqua blue lumbar pillow.. With the lamp and pillows in aqua and green, it would tie everything together.

IMO you don't need any more neutrals.

Perhaps grover will photoshop the chairs and lamp in the room for a test?

Everything everyone has mentioned this far is amazing... Unfortunately The husband doesn't care for the glame. I need to try and make it more casual beach house. We live on an island so we would love to go that direction if possible. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.!!!

Here's an example of adding a contrasting color (in this case yellow).

House plants are wonderful if they are in an area with the proper growing conditions (light/moisture, etc.) I don't think they can ever be "out" of style! Just make sure they are real and you take care of them. Artificial plants and trees just look sad after a while and they are terrible dust collectors.

The corner plant that was shown by groveraxle with the white base works perfectly and helps to bring the outdoors in. It is ok, that it is faux because there does not appear to be natural light coming in that direction. Do not put anything on the TV console as someone suggested, but instead decorate the wall surrounding the TV(shown in picture by blenheimnewzealand - do not have to put TV on wall), then add some of the pillows offered by susan2494, and then you are 95% done with this room(would be 100%, if you did not want the chairs).

Have you considered corner shelving? I'm pretty sure both of these come in white. Also, on the second one, I've seen clear acrylic shelves.

It makes sense to think about what you need in that corner. If someone is sitting on that end, do they need a place to place a drink? Do you need lighting in that corner? I love plants but function takes priority. I suggest a solid end table for some mass, and a lamp with a rounded shape in a complementary color, rather than metal.
I love the room and the sofas! The colors look beachy - what about some "organic" /natural accessories to bring the beach inside? Though I agree the beautiful console has enough presence - no accessories there - and mounting the TV would continue the light airy "vibe".

I think a darker color rug would help ground the furniture.
