Congratulations!! I love your house! It is difficult to see the front stoop. Can you post a close-up picture? It appears that the landscape need freshening.

My personal take on a home, especially an old, lovely home, is how the windows are dressed. The current trend of blinds, shades, etc. really ruins the look of a home! I drive by gorgeous homes with windows that look like they are covered with white sheets! The worst is brown wooden blinds and those woven shades!! Okay....done with my rant...:)

For your front windows, I would do either sheers, bottom shutters with swag toppers, cafe curtains, etc. Panels without shades would be great, too.

The house is really cute, but you're right about the stoop. It looks like Rube Goldberg contraption. I would redo it completely, pour it larger and wider, beef up the posts at the same time. Then I would paint all the trim the same white.

Two huge brightly colored planters on each side of the door with tall shrubs would be a great start. Some brightly colored, large, artistic house numbers would make a great impact. If you're willing to remove the storm door and put beautiful hardware on the door that will make a huge difference. Refinish the existing or put a larger door knocker on the door for maximum curb appeal. Above the door needs a custom paneling attached (so you don't see the base color of the house through it) and will add depth and interest. I would have larger columns built around the existing posts because they look too thin and need more architectural details.

Grover, that is beautiful! Replace the storm door with an all glass one. The trim of the door should be the same color as the front door.

The trim should remain white and the door differently colored. Trim makes everything pop and it will look strange if you paint it the same as the door.
