My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Kitchen Before and After: Why there is NO reason not to use IKEA!

This is a semi-customized IKEA kitchen project which I installed as part of a ground floor renovation in this Toronto home. It uses the "Bjorket" birch shaker door, painted. While I don't use IKEA kitchens exclusively in all my renovations, in most of them I do, and as time goes by I see less and less reason for anyone to spend the obscene amount that full custom cabinetry costs. Save your money, use IKEA and have loads of money left over for high-end appliances, nice counter surfaces, quality flooring and other upgrades!

The first pic is the "before," (a galley kitchen), followed by pictures of the new open-concept kitchen, island, and adjacent pantry area - all constructed using IKEA cabinetry.

      Nice choices that will not date itself. I agree, IKEA cabinets are great. I read that Suzanne Dimma, House and Home editor used IKEA cabinet boxes and inner storage hardware components and had custom cabinet doors made for her own home.

      Here here! Love ikea! That's what I am doing! What's awesome is if you get sick of your kitchen, buy new doors for a new look without buying new cabinets.....mix and match!

      Very pretty. I've used Ikea cabinets on a much smaller scale and have been very happy with them. I did back the white box wall cabinets with white bead board to boost them up some because you see the backs. I didn't bother on the bases because of the depth of them.

      I did the same with some black/brown billy bookcases. Stained & Painted the bead board to match the cabinet color. Everyone is surprised to find out who made them.
