Need help with kitchen backsplash

We are building a new home and just had this backsplash installed in our kitchen. However, the edges (top and sides) do not look very good as you can see the mesh lining behind the stone. I'm looking for ideas on how to finish the edges...maybe some kind of caulking or trim? It seems difficult since the stone pieces are uneven and of different depths.
