I have only worked with Wood Mode, and they are a mid range custom company that has a very good reputation in the industry. I have heard of Dura Supreme but don't know much about them. I would look into what their warranties cover and interview a KD about the good and bad with both brands.

Will Wood-Mode customize any feature for its cabinets or only certain features? I have heard that Dura Supreme does not customize any features a customer wants, but only few features.

they are a custom company and will customize any features. You should ask the KD about the warranty, but they have a good reputation in the industry.

This past 9 months I had a Brookhaven kitchen installed. Brookhaven is Wood-Modes less expensive brand. Dont get me wrong, even though less expensive, the cabinets were custom made for us and are of the best quality. The cabinet boxes are identical, just the doors are different. I LOVE my kitchen!! They customized everything I wanted. Their customer service was exceptional. My kitchen designer was great!! Any problems that arose, she along with Wood Mode, took care of it promptly.

I have been both a Wood-Mode Dealer and a Dura Supreme dealer and those comments above are quintessential Wood-Mode. Clients become fans and are our best referral. People love their cabinets and come back to do other rooms and often add to old kitchens. I can't say that happens with any other brand. Kitchens that are 20 years old look as if I finished them last week. I am always amazed.

I have no experience with Wood Mode. But we redid a vacation rental with Dura Supreme and those cabinets look brand new 6 years later. We redid a kitchen and 2 baths. The rental is in a very humid climate. I am amazed how well they have held up. I agree with the comment that they are not a full custom cabinet company with a million options but since it was for a rental, we weren't looking for that.

I am a designer for a Dura Supreme Dealer, I am an x cabinet Maker from Los-Angeles- and I now design with 3- Major Semi Custom Lines Dura Supreme, Midcontinent, and Waypoint.

By far the most flexible, and the most consistent cabinet line I offer is Dura Supreme. Dura Supreme offers just as many choices as the custom cabinet companies I worked with out in Los Angeles. Dura supreme will custom build basically anything I through at them and they due it with precision, and finesse. They have been is business for over 50 years, they own there own forest, and they are a debt free company.

When I visited the plant I was very impressed to see there commitment to excellence. They assign a team to every cabinet job so they can track any issues during fabrication, Imagine you get your own master craftsman team building and assembling your job as it goes through the plant that's huge especially in a plant the size of Dura supreme, this allows for accountability, and a quick resolve with any issues during manufacturing.

As a designer I find Dura to be a remarkable company to work with, both in there state of the art manufacturing facility, and there constant commitment to excellence, they are always ahead of the curve on there door styles, finishes, and the many different ways you can customize a box. Also when it comes to design software updates, customer service, and constant training opportunities I have yet to find a company that compares.

I have nothing but good things to say about Dura because most of our store traffic is generated by people who own Dura and are back to buy more.

I am trying to do what I can to get rough quotes from a few different places on what it would be to redo our kitchen, and have a catalog from Waypoint. (I have so far priced out Ikea and Deerfield-tomorrow we are pricing out unfinished..which I am doing under duress as it's what my husband feels will be our best budget bet) I see that there is a Dura Supreme dealer not horribly far from us. I've not had a chance to to get back to the Waypoint dealer with our measurements for a quote. What would you say the quality and pricing of Waypoint compared to Dura Supreme? Is the Dura Supreme quite a bit more expensive?

Waypoint is easily 15-20% less then Dura Supreme all depending on how you trick your cabinets out. Waypoint is a very simple line it comes with an all plywood box soft-close hinges, glides and an English dovetail solid birch drawer box. Waypoint has a nice finish but only gives you roughly 30 door styles, and way less choices then Dura, and you can't do anything custom with them.

Dura Supreme is my top Premium brand, this in the closest I have to a full custom line over a hundreds door-styles and finishes, you can order as an inset door, as a euro frameless cabinet, or as a framed cabinet.

Waypoint and Dura are planets away from Ikea knockdown KD cabinetry, not sure if you're aware that you have to assemble Ikea? I have heard horror stories of their cabinetry falling off customers walls, they also install with a german cleat system that I hear is a nightmare to level.

I am an X cabinet maker installer from LA, I use to work with a company out in Los Angeles that use to send me out in the field with euro KD cabinetry and it was junk to work with. I use to spend hours re-building the stuff in the field, because if you over tighten a KD locking screw the box just falls apart - because there is no glue involved in the construction just these locking German screws mounted in MDF board, if you overtighten a cam screw the stuff just crumbles.

Thank you! I'm in Iowa, tho, so a bit far away. Yeah, I know Ikea needs to be assembled. I've got people to help with it if that's the route we go. Trying to find cabinets that are better quality than the unfinished Menards, but not breaking the bank, is harder than I thought it would be. So far, Deerfield and Ikea are not too horribly above the unfinished. We'd have to travel to pick up the Ikea, and then of course assemble. But that would still take less time than everything we'd have to do to the unfinished to make it "decent". We have unfinished in the basement and there's a drawer I couldn't close yesterday so I just left it. I don't want to deal w/that in the kitchen.
