Trouble with Hosta Francee

Hello,
I planted this shrub around my Seattle home at the start of summer in areas ranging from full shade to partial shade. The plants are on a drip line. The plants seemed to do OK, but now all the plants have slowly turned yellow and died. Some are long gone and other, perhaps, can be saved. An image is here: https://flic.kr/p/AfxtUW. Other plants in the area have done fine.
Any ideas as to what went wrong?

Nothing is wrong. Hostas are perennials and die to the ground in the Fall. When the foliage yellows and withers you cut it close to the ground. You might mark their location so in Spring you don't accidentally step on the emerging shoots.

Thanks! I am going to start laughing real fast so I can claim we are laughing together. So glad I didn't dig them up!

Oh no no, do not dig them up. They are happy, just going for a Winter sleep. They'll return bigger and happier in Spring :-)
