Sometimes, I have to remind myself that my husband lives in the house too, and he deserves to have his stuff too. The screen idea is good. If either of you is handy, build a 4 sided box around the safe, one with a door that you can build and decorate with molding, stain it or paint it, or use a salvaged door or screen door depending on your style. Like a free standing screen, but more stable.

When we were house hunting one of the houses had it built into an alcove under the stairs.
