I have a 2 year old Staffordshire and she recently had a claw injury . I left her outside for a while and later noticed she was licking her paws a lot , when I finnaly went to go look at it I noticed her nail was split and the inner part of it was showing so I took her to the vet and they removed her whole nail and bandaged her up . They told me to take the bandage off after 3 days and give her antibiotics . After 3 days , I took it off and it still looks painful and red so I bandage it at home myself and she walks on it all fine but I just want to know if anyone has been in his situation ? How long does it take for it to heal? I don't understand how they told me to take off the bandage in 3 days and let her walk around with it freely it can easily get dirty and infected so I hope what I'm doing is not making it worse ? Please someone help me
