If the photo below is your paint color "Old Straw Hat", then any Formica that picks up the warm yellow would be fine. Otherwise, a speckled off white.

Thank you so much for your input, but my paint color is BM #270 "Straw Hat." Old Straw Hat is a different shade (BM #337). Can you recommend any colors of countertops that you might have seen that would complement this shade? Thanks again for helping me. I really appreciate it.

Is this kitchen more like it? The legend says "Benjamin Moore Straw Hat". It's a lot greener than "Old Straw Hat".

Yes, this picture is the correct Straw Hat color. I don't care for this particular countertop, though. Good suggestion about the paint stick. I just did one today on an 8" x 8" wood block. I will bring it with me to a Formica store. If you know of any countertop colors off the top of your head that you think might look nice, I'm all ears. Thanks so much for your help!

Formica is a brand, plastic laminate is what it is. There are a number of plam companies to consider,nevamar, Wilson, pionite, and formica of course. there are plenty of fun patterns and colors to choose from. Its a tremendous value compared to solid surfaces and durable to boot.

We used Wilsonart Luna Shadow. Provides a nice contrast with white cabinets without being stark. As a true neutral gives great flexibility for wall color and floor. About $21 SF.

Our walls are SW Fun Yellow. Cabinets are Crystal White.

Luna Shadow is a medium gray. Didn't want too black for fear of bumble bee effect with yellow walls. HD and Lowe's had very small samples. We picked out 3-5 finishes light to dark and ordered large samples about 1 SF from Wilsonart for either free or token cost.
