installing 2-wire vs. 3-wire track lighting

I want to renew the track lighting in an old condo. The entire condo uses a two-wire system in which the ground at the point of use is provided by the metal junction and switch boxes. The current track lighting is a 2-wire system. Because of the lower cost and better availability, I would like to install a standard 3-wire system. There are only two wires running to the current tracks, however, and it would be very difficult to run a ground wire to a grounded switch box or junction box because of the location.
Should I just install the 3-wire track without the ground? The switch itself will be grounded to the box.
