With the grey and cream, you might want to pick something with some punch - of course it can be kept monotone, but if so, think about an interesting texture. You also might want to get a larger rug than is shown here. Right now the chairs look like they are off to the side too much. You don't mention much about surrounding rooms, or what your color scheme is. Shades of grey with that strong blue in the art might be nice.

Havingfun, there is no rule about rug size...BUT...I hate rugs that are too small for a grouping. That said, if there is no good reason to have a supersize rug it may look dumb. I tend to put on my black robe and weigh each case individually. As for sisal, I like it, but it must be used properly, otherwise it too can look bad.

I found out it was cheaper to fly to Marrakesh and buy carpets there (£45 rtn flights then 3 carpets for ~£1k) than to buy them in the UK. Recommend you all try it!

Flipping pony tails are very useful. A person's last word on a topic, or even ick, looks like the puppy had accidents all over that. Sometimes we only see things one way, then the little girl with the ponytail comes in, and then you can only see it her way. tehehe
