You could easily mount the tv above the fireplace. You could create a nice surround that incorporate tv with fireplace.

We started with a floor to ceiling fireplace and when my wife made the mistake of leaving me alone for the weekend I removed most of the brickwork leaving only a small "box" of bricks around the insert.

I then proceeded with the kitchen reno now that the big brick hearth was out of the way and I could install the hardwood floor

To finish it off I painted the brass frame pieces black with heat resistant paint and then used 6 tiles that I cut down to size to make the surround and then surrounded the tiles with MDF. The cabinets on either side are LIATORP from IKEA ($ 349 each) and I added the mantle shelf and the crown molding. Still need to add the wood trim to the surround and paint it all white. The point I am trying to make is that we had intended to put a TV where the oil painting is but found that because of the shelving units, we were limited to the size of the TV we could put up and running the wires to the TV would be a challenge due the brickwork behind the drywall. So we put it at the end of the room where it should have been in the first place lol

They do make TV stands with a fireplace in them....either gas or electric..not sure. You could get one of those and sit your TV on it or hang it on the wall above it. Looks nice on the ones I have seen.
