PORCELAIN MARBLE AND MARBLE MASTER COMBO. PLEASE HELP WITH FLOOR.

10 years ago

Building a Michigan cottage that will one day be our retirement home. Breaking ground next week!! (yeah). Well water - may need water softener. Not sure of iron content. Using Kerdi shower system - zero entry. Read that water sitting beneath shower pan will turn marble yellow. I'm going for the look of the two bathroom photos minus the dark shower walls. I LOVE real marble but realistically don't want the upkeep or risk of yellowing.

Original plan: (purchasing through The Tile Shop)

Shower = 3'6 x 6'6, vanity 6'9

Meram Blanc Polished Amalfi Marble 12x12- along vanity wall to ceiling, stop at shower glass wall, as 4x4 framed decor (as in last photo) on the long wall in shower, and as shower floor. (scrapping shower floor idea).

Fronda Marengo Faux Wood Tile for floor in toilet room and in front of vanity - will stop in front of shower entry. Herringbone pattern.

Carrara Gris Matt - (Faux marble) to be used as main material on shower walls. 10x13.

I can't find Porcelain Faux Carrara Gris marble mosaic with mesh backing for the shower pan floor to match.

Can I use the penny round light grey or penny round mist for the shower pan floor with a border of the faux marble? Both samples included. What else could I use that is porcelain and won't need regular sealing but go with the overall look intermixing real and faux marble. I would be sick if my marble turned yellow.

Thank you for your input and inspiration!
