Some don't have a fold down lens or clips. Some you just need the right size lens and kind of fold it in. It's a pain in the but that looks like what you have

It seems like you get what you pay for in the case of long-tube fluorescent luminaries. Some are a lot easier to work on than others.

By "plastic" I presume you mean the lens. Looking at what shows in the photos you supplied, I think the lens merely snaps into place. It probably very flexible and can be pried out from the end. Look for a pry notch at the end of the lens. Is there a notch? If there is no notch, then it may be difficult to get out once snapped in place. Possibly, the lens is a bit short and does not fit tight at the ends.

The other alternative is to use it without the lens unless it is filtering UV.

I am puzzled by your photos. I did not see any connectors for holding the florescent tubes. Is the fixture complete?
