Advice on Henredon sofa with 39.75 inch high back.

I have just about decided on a Henredon sofa from the Fireside collection (H2000). I love the fabric choices and the quality and price point. My hesitation is that the height of the back of the sofa is 39.75 inches. This sofa is going to "float" in the room. That seems very high to me. The other options are too small or too big (and more expensive). I'd like to know whether other people think that the 39.75 inch height is a "deal breaker." Thanks.

If you have high ceilings it is probably perfect. if you have 8 foot ceilings it is probably perfect too. The problem comes when all your other major upholstered pieces are 6 or more inches shorter. Keep your upholstered pieces close to the 39 inche height and you should be fine.

Take your existing sofa and add pillows or boxes to the back to build it up. THen decide if you like the height.

Mine is higher and it floats in my room and it looks great. My chairs are actually a couple of inches higher and it all works beautifully. If you like it, go with it.

Did you end up buying this sofa? I have the same reservation on the Henredon Fireside- but in my case, a sectional.
